Cheap Wards

Description
Because people have been bugging me for it. Wards cost 5/10/15.

I am stilll convinced that 5/10/15 is vastly too expensive compared to just wearing a shield or dual-casting a spell, but but since there was demand and this took me all of five minutes...

I didn't subscribe, but only because I knew how to make this myself. I set mine to 5/10/15, and I think it is perfect. I remember playing on PS3 and laughing at Bethesda for making such a useless spell; seriously, what is the point of using up all of your magicka to block two or three enemy spells or dragon breaths? Once you are depleted of magicka, they will just keep firing at you and never run out themselves ( ever notice how enemy mages can keep firing indefinitely at you even with their wards up?!?). This doesn't break the game at all, it actually balances it.

This is a must-have fix for those who don't know how to make this mod themselves. I approve!!!

my lesser wards cost 1 mana, steadfast 4 and greater ward 2...I like the mod, but I think you might have switched the mana cost on steadfast and greater ward spells (?)

This is an incredibly useful mod. In my straight mage play through, the wards have become integral parts of my strategy. I just had an ice dragon fight in Winterhold in a blizzard, at 3am. Because I run realistic lighting mods, I couldn't even really see the dragon past more than a dark shadow. But with my wards, I was able to block his breath attacks, slowly wear him down with destruction spells (I run deadly dragons), and eventually bring him down and kill him. The important part though is, instead of a vanilla playthrough where I would have to just put healing in one hand and fireball in the other and try to burst him down before he kills me, it was a much more measured and tactical engagement.

Long post, but thank you very much! This simple change has really enhanced the game as a mage.

I love this! Just played through a dungeon, and my Ward actually felt like a relevant part of my strategy instead of being another spell to clutter my Restoration tab--without breaking game balance.

Also, I have a question; since Wards don't slow down melee attackers, would it be possible to give Wards shield characteristics?

This one is definatelty better. Free wards just feels to unrealistic/ Cheap wards are actually balanced.
