[SOMEWHAT OBSOLETE] Spas-12 No Hook

Description
As of the Last Stand update, this mod is somewhat obsolete as the Spas-12 was given jiggle bones to the stock and ring, making this an outdated version of the model.

Original description:
Removes the hook from the Spas-12.

Also fixes the Spas-12 missing shell-insert sounds sometimes, as well as the ring on the left of the gun's world model being out of place.

Q. Why just the hook?

A. Removing the entire stock & hook, while easy, requires some additional work. For instance, the thumb sticks out further on the reload animation and it looks awful if the stock isn't there. In addition, Valve seems to love their baked-in ambient occlusion, so there'd be dark spots where the stock & hook used to be which would also require some work. I'm no good at animating nor texturing, so I thought I'd just leave the stock. This also keeps the Spas-12 looking big & powerful next to the other Autoshotgun.

Q. There's a black hole on the stock where the hook used to be, can you fix it?

A. I actually attempted to, but none of my fixes were satisfactory. In other words, you could tell the hole had been textured over, because that area of the stock stood out more than any other part. In real life, it's not uncommon for the hook to be removable, leaving a hole where you'd insert it, so I thought there was no harm in just leaving it there. You'll hardly notice it. This also makes it more easily compatible with skins since there's no texture.

Q. Is this compatible with reskins?

A. Expanding upon the last point in the last answer, yes. Since this is entirely model-based, any reskins of the default Spas-12 should work just fine with this mod. Reanimation mods, however, will not, since they replace the Spas-12's viewmodel.

@TyrannoWrite it would work, but i didn't do that solely because then it'd be incompatible with reskins since it'd need its own texture to do that.

@Frale00 not at the moment, no. for whatever reason the spas-12 is a weird decompile--the pump or everything but always gets offset for some reason, and trying to get it back in the right spot is a complete gamble. this isn't normally an issue but given I don't have the original files for the new animations, I can't recompile the edited model on said new animations without parts of the model being off-center or the jigglebones going missing.

I'm not a brainiac on Source textures/modeling, would it be possible to just use an alpha texture to remove the hook without removing it through the model? It sort of works with my 4k E3 retexture without eliminating the jigglebones.

this still works like i said, it's just the stock & ring aren't jiggly like the new default. i actually don't know if i'll be able to restore this mod *and* keep the jigglebones since the starter kits aren't going to be updated and decompiling viewmodels gets rid of a LOT of information

not a bug, the last line of the description states "Reanimation mods, however, will not, since they replace the Spas-12's viewmodel." additionally, the original page of the mod you're talking about says in note 3: "this is not compatible with any custom weapon models mod and ONLY WORKS WITH ORIGINAL SURVIVORS."

new viewmodel animations with legs works by adding the legs to the viewmodels themselves and heavily modifying the animations to make it appear as though the player's legs are being shown. in no way is it script based and compatible with any other weapon mods.
