Nomad-ST Armored

Description
This is an up-armored version of jrandal's wonderful Nomad-ST, with its ENORMOUS hangar. This version is tough, but requires WAY fewer resources than his Nomad-XT. It's unlock level 10. I built mine before warping anywhere by salvaging three different wrecks, and hitting a few POI's.

In my opinion, his design is one of the finest, and most versatile on the workshop. Large enough to serve almost any role, and still a reasonable size for players who have only been to a few worlds. I present this design as a bootstrap-plus model, and a near-endgame model for PvE players. In my opinion, there is really no need for more capitol ship, as a PvE player, except for an additional, custom capitol miner.

Exterior: This version has 18 designated turret hardpoints around the body, including a spot for a 5x3 turrret up top. Some hardpoints are marked with an R, M, or C to suggest Rocket, Minigun, or Cannon turrets. There are also 6 crowd-control turrets on various nooks around the lower-exterior, to help with the locals when disembarking planetside. ;-) The landing pad has more substantial cover for docked ships. There are also four designated long-gun spots, two of which are set up for rocket launchers with pretty good armor/cover.

Interior: I changed the grow-room/cockpit wall to allow for fridges and a food processor in the grow-room. I put the two advanced constructors near each other, surrounded by some cargo containers so that one might stand in one place and do all your costruction-shuffling wtihout running around much. I also added secondary oxygen, fridge, and med-clone services on either side of the main hangar door, for easy access during retreats/engagements. Redundant O2 and Med services available in the cockpit. There is a second control-chair in the main hangar for easy access.

I have also reorganized the grouping of various ship's systems, such that it is easy to enter differing low-power modes when in orbit or landed on a planet. This includes a MAIN-Thrust configuration, and a COMBAT-Thrust addition, that allows for much more efficient exploration, and still provides significant maneuverability for high-G planets and combat.

NOTE: Some of my exterior texture and ploy/block-work leaves something to be desired, but I tried to mesh my expanded armor with the existing shapes where possible, and I provided extra 'extruded' shapes to provide cover for turrets and thrusters. There is also a fair bit of extra space in the front 'thruster pods' that could fit more RCS or larger thrusters.

wow great news I will be looking forward to it. I will just keep
taking my lev 4 sv out at this stage then. I might find a blueprint
for an average size CV until then also. Thanks for your time and
effort into building these amazing crafts.

I've actually been fiddling around with it a bit lately. I'm going to upload an RE (no CPU) version) as well as an RE CPU version in August.

Hope this can be updated for reforged eden. These nomads have always
been my favorite. Dont need a base for these models, just perfect.
All I normally do is have a flat landing pad with a repair/repair station installed
with core and power, which I already have a blueprint for. Then every now and
then I will pick a planet I like and put one down just to repair the CV.
Great work on design. Previously I downloaded this blueprint about 2 years ago
and put more weapons on it. Still the best of the lot for me. Thankyou.

I cannot confirm it's still viable. I haven't updated this for a specific mod, and I can tell you that I've NEVER checked CPU or weight/volume. I still come back to this design over and over when I play because it is so versatile for PvE play. So I HAVE updated things here and there recently. But not systematically.

I will look at these things this coming month, and will post an update here around the 4th of July

I like it i play and use it on survival mode. I couldnt use any storage for some reason even when i removed it to place it differently to my liking it said it was for sv not cv. I just dont have experience configuring cargo control and all that stuff so still working on it.

I haven't played Empyrion in almost a year. I am currently rebuilding my PC in hopes I'll be able to return soon. Looking forward to updating the design to match the current version and I'll provide other updates as well. As far as your question, skShroyer, There are possibly some unmarked mounts that I included in my count of 18. Look for flat spots 3x3, near the landing pad, as well as along the sides.

I think I'm blind. I see 15 mounts (5 on each side, 4 on the bottom and the arty mount). Where are the 3 I'm missing? I'd hate to have less firepower than I can have! :D
