Description
Starter Capital Vessel (CV-Class 2, Unlocks at player level 10)

Primary roles: Survival PVE, Mobile Base, Small HV/SV Carrier, Farm.

Mr. Spicy has made a great video showcasing this ship as well the XT version. If you would like to check it out you can find it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ufsB7BxFuPM

Thanks Mr. Spicy!

The Nomad-ST is designed to be a player starter CV requiring no Zascosium or Erestrum and unlocks at player level 10. This ship does include 54 grow plots unlike the my existing Carapace-C2 starter CV. The reason to include them this time was the ease of aquiring plant fiber as wood can be converted to it with Alpha 8. The hull of this ship is built with steel to cut down on building costs. It features a decent sized hangar and farm despite being a small class 2 vessel. The ship does not have anything that would either require Erestrum or Zascosium or player level higher than 10, however room is available to add more items as well as several turrets and a few guns.

New 5/26/18: For those of you looking for a combat armor version of this ship, see the Nomad-XT. Link at bottom of post.

Features:

- Hangar side crafting area with a lot of storage
- 54 Grow Plot Farm
- All thrusters Exposed
- Sensor based automatic lights, ramps, and hangar door.
- Central Elevator gets you to all areas of the ship. Getting around is quick and easy
- Decent sized hangar able to hold several HV/SV depending on size. It can hold any my HV/SV's
- Control switches for Thruster/RCS and Exterior Lights
- Has extra slot in hangar to add another T1 Large Generator if ever needed
- 4 Turret mount points(No Artillery) and 4 weapon mount points for Pulse Guns or Rocket launchers (Turrets and Guns not included)
- Decent sized top landing pad with roof access.
- Warp Core
- Compartmentalized O2

This ship requires Alpha 8 or the current experimental version. It will not be able to spawn in alpha 7.x. If you want to get the current experimental version, follow these instructions:

1. In your steam games libary, right click on Empyrion and select properites.
2. In the menu, select the Product Betas tab.
3. In the drop down box, select "Unstable Experimental branch"

Steam will automatically download the updated version of the game. Once at this version, any alpha 7 saved games will not work. If you wish to go back to alpha 7.x, repeat the steps and opt out of any betas and the older version of the game will return after steam updates empyrion. For more detailed information on these steps go here, scroll about halfway down that page to "Product Betas" and follow those instructions.

If this is still meant for vanilla play, then to let you know the CPU is massively out of whack. AS IS.
Love the ship, just more work than I want to do for a download to not work.

Dear jrandall! I am new to Empyrion - Galactic Survival. I really like your work in the workshop of this game, especially the old versions of the ships, which are now not very suitable in terms of technical characteristics, but very good in design and convenience. The Military Survival Series is especially good.
Masterpieces such as Merc ships, Nomad-ST, Wayfarer-ST2, Aethon, Carrack-ILC are great for different levels of player development. I really liked the change of some of them for the Reforged Eden scenario. I'm just starting to play this scenario and want to use your Nomad-ST in my playthrough. Could you update this drawing for this scenario?
I will be very grateful to you for your work! Thank you.

Amazingly simple, effective, elegant vessel.

Easy to get started with, easy to modify, easy to grow with.

Highly recommended.

@jrandall I have made a retrofit of the Nomad-ST that is T2 CPU compliant. Hope you don't mind.

It is available here:

@jrandall I posted this before I saw how much work you put into rebuilding the MCRX 5. I could only imagine how much work you would have to do to update the Nomad, and I won't ask that of you. I'll look into those other CV's you mentioned. Thanks.

Is there any way to find a certain part in the ship? Looking at my CPU stats, it says I have 3 constructors, but I have no idea where the 3rd is. I have 2 adv in the hangar. I tried removing them both and replacing but it still says I have 3

Thank you very much Ravenshagh, Grizvold, and skshroyer! @Grizvold, Sounds very cool. I have found I pretty much remove all RCS when coverting to A11 CPU as well. If you ever want to publish it, let me know and I can add it as a modded version to this post above. @Ravenshagh, I been really trying to work on some new starter CV's as of late. Recently I released the MCRN-Pioneer and I am now working on a Kriel Starter CV. I am not sure if I wanted to get into redoing the Nomad's or not. It is a lot of work in some cases and I have found new designs built ground up for the new CPU and flight model tend to work out better as proper planning can be done for new parts like shields and getting thruster placement right for decent flying without the use of RCS. However modded A11 versions may appear on this post :) Thanks again all!
