She-wolf, Wulfe

Description
Wulfe working in DST!

First of all, basically none of this is my work, I just got everything working so that Wulfe was able to tame hounds again.

Wulfe herself was made by short_circuiting, found here: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=175576844&searchtext=Wulfe

She was ported over to DST by Final 272, here:
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=432971115&searchtext=wulfe

The coding for befriending hounds I found from a character called "Tecolin" made by Dragon Wolf Leo, here:
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=489444974

And finally a bit of coding that allows the hounds to stay befriended permanently (If I edited the coding correctly) was taken from Daisy made by RiverSwim, found here:
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1383795736&searchtext=daisy

HP: 150
Hunger: 150
Sanity: 120

Wulfe is able to tame hounds by giving them meat.
She is also able to eat monster meat without any health or sanity issues.
She takes less damage from temperature, does 30% more damage, and moves 20% faster.
She also gets attacked by pigmen now.
Oh yeah, she also uses Wendy's voice now as opposed to Wilson's. Just thought you'd like to know.

To be honest, I can't remember all of what the character actually does, but I didn't touch that much (I don't think I did, at least), so anything I've forgotten, one of the other two probably mention.

By the by, to put it in circuit's words "I'm NOT a coder". This likely won't really be updated outside of keeping it up to date for my own use if nothing else.

-Q&A-

Q: Who are you?
A: No one (no, really).

Q: who is Wulfe?
A: Probably my favorite character for Don't starve. I've used Final's DST version of her for a while but wanted her to work like she used to, so I spent a day that I had nothing better to do getting her to be able to tame hounds.

Q: You know none of this is yours, right?
A: Yes, and should the original mod creator (meaning short_circuit) or steam themselves ask me to take it down, I will. Heck, I'll probably take it down even if Final asks.

Q: If you just used someone else's coding, why did it take a day?
A: I originally tried coding it myself. Fun activity; try coding something with zero knowledge of LUA script or how to mod don't starve.

Q: Why bother with all of this?
A: Personal use, to be honest. But hey, maybe some other people liked Wulfe and wanted her in DST. She's not her original, but she can tame Hounds again.

Seriously, I'm a good 99% certain none of this is mine, so don't give me credit. Really.

I love Wulfe.

For absolutely no reason. She doesn't have too many abilities of doesn't look super-duper badass.

I just love her. Favourite modded character since Singleplayer Don't Starve.

@Toxic_Rose that's just a quote of hers, alluding to the fact that she's a canine and canines in real life have some level of night vision. She never had it as a mechanic in the game though.

Wulfe used to have it yeah, when she is in the dark she says "Where's my Night vision!" but her not having it isnt going to stop me playing her. She is my fav modded char

@Toxic_Rose was that something she had? don't remember that. anyway, sorry but i have no idea how to program that. i'd probably leave it as is, though, cause with everything else she already does, i find night vision on top of that to be leaning towards over powered a bit too much. Good luck if you try to change the files yourself, though.

Would it be possible to give wulfe her night vision back?

What if she can make hound nest , That would bring a new base-plan style .

I've been using Wulfe since 2013 in DS, and ever since DST. Didn't know somebody made a proper Hound-taming version in DST! Now all we need is an HD remaster of the textures.

Thank you for the speedy comment and telling me how to do it.

apologies for the wall of text, but i wanted to make it easy to follow for anyone who wanted to do the same. it probably still isn't, but i might recommend "how to make a DST character a Carnivore" if you have any major concerns.

@Dipord right, so i just spent some time to refresh my knowledge on how the code works. i'm not too inclined to change the mod for the sake of those who like it, but i can tell you how to do it.

In your don't starve together folder in your steam directory, you'll find a mods folder filled with anything from the workshop. find the folder for this one (ID 1438852512), then scripts, then prefabs, and there should be "wulfe.lua". open that in something that works (i use ZeroBrane for coding, but notepad can work). After the list of assets, you'll see text that says "--this initializes for both clients and host". a little further beneath that is the line "inst.components.eater.strongstomach = true". on either a line above or below that, type in "inst.components.eater.SetCarnivore()". save the file and you should be good to go. Whoever is hosting will need the modified file in order for that to actually take affect.
