I love Wulfe.

For absolutely no reason. She doesn't have too many abilities of doesn't look super-duper badass.

I just love her. Favourite modded character since Singleplayer Don't Starve.

@Toxic_Rose that's just a quote of hers, alluding to the fact that she's a canine and canines in real life have some level of night vision. She never had it as a mechanic in the game though.
Toxic Rose 22 Nov, 2021 @ 8:03pm
Wulfe used to have it yeah, when she is in the dark she says "Where's my Night vision!" but her not having it isnt going to stop me playing her. She is my fav modded char

@Toxic_Rose was that something she had? don't remember that. anyway, sorry but i have no idea how to program that. i'd probably leave it as is, though, cause with everything else she already does, i find night vision on top of that to be leaning towards over powered a bit too much. Good luck if you try to change the files yourself, though.

Would it be possible to give wulfe her night vision back?

What if she can make hound nest , That would bring a new base-plan style .

I've been using Wulfe since 2013 in DS, and ever since DST. Didn't know somebody made a proper Hound-taming version in DST! Now all we need is an HD remaster of the textures.

Thank you for the speedy comment and telling me how to do it.

apologies for the wall of text, but i wanted to make it easy to follow for anyone who wanted to do the same. it probably still isn't, but i might recommend "how to make a DST character a Carnivore" if you have any major concerns.

@Dipord right, so i just spent some time to refresh my knowledge on how the code works. i'm not too inclined to change the mod for the sake of those who like it, but i can tell you how to do it.

In your don't starve together folder in your steam directory, you'll find a mods folder filled with anything from the workshop. find the folder for this one (ID 1438852512), then scripts, then prefabs, and there should be "wulfe.lua". open that in something that works (i use ZeroBrane for coding, but notepad can work). After the list of assets, you'll see text that says "--this initializes for both clients and host". a little further beneath that is the line "inst.components.eater.strongstomach = true". on either a line above or below that, type in "inst.components.eater.SetCarnivore()". save the file and you should be good to go. Whoever is hosting will need the modified file in order for that to actually take affect.

@Dipord Hadn't touched this mod in years but my skill is very limited in modding. What i can suggest is look at a template and update it that way. :3

I know the odds of me geting what I'm asking for is little to non, But is there any way of making her only able to eat meat?
Dust Azurell  [author] 12 Jun, 2019 @ 1:00am
doing alright. been toying with coding ideas for tamed hounds being more defensive and attacking only what you attack as opposed to anything in sight, but even if i find a way to do this, it wouldn't be soon.

Nice making her being able to tame wolves again. Hope you and short_circuiting are doing well. ^^

Hey dust. i have some thing for you.
Dust Azurell  [author] 27 Oct, 2018 @ 11:09am
i never noticed them attack anyone, but according to my friend, they would sometimes go for him once or twice if i was off screen. i can't really verify this, so that's about as much as i can say, sorry about that. glad to see you enjoy it though.
Poppy 26 Oct, 2018 @ 2:22pm
Yeesss! Finally being able to tame "Fluffy Friends" again. And the hound-wave who attack you once-problem was already in the original mod. For now, just run around until they are tame and stop attacking you. Do Tame hounds still attack other players or does it work like with Webber's spiders?
Dust Azurell  [author] 10 Sep, 2018 @ 7:42pm
unfortunately, i haven't the foggiest. i do know that there is a problem when the hounds show up. ones already on the map are fine, but ones that spawn during an attack will still attack you. i found they became passive if i just ran around for a while, but i haven't a clue what's causing it. i suspect the code for hounds during an attack is slightly different from the base hound coding, but i could be wrong. as for how to fix it, your guess may as well be better than mine. i have no clue on how to code outside of C# and probably wouldn't be much use even knowing the answer. really sorry about that. as for the damage, i never noticed. i can look into it, otherwise i'll just write off the 30% damage bonus. hope everything works otherwise, cause i may not be able to fix things.
Barbarian 9 Sep, 2018 @ 11:02pm
Well, all good, but hounds still bite you. The thing is only one time right after they appeared and then all ok. They just fool around and you can tame them. Wulfe's damage still is the same as Wilson does. Tried with no mods and the same...
I looked up files and all seems fine (don't know much about codding). Any ideas why?
