Rover Transport + M3 Mining Drone - V2

Description
This is a simple rover with a mining drone used for early to mid-game mining runs on planets. Mainly built for scenarios relying on solar power instead of uranium like the "Survival, Maybe..." scenario.

Update: 2018-08-03

* Added some more decorative armor blocks for an improved and sturdier look.
* Drone now have a projector for easier repairs and two Gatling guns have been added for defense.

=== Important ===
Connecting or Disconnecting the drone (currently) causes you to lose connection to it if you are controlling it. I made a timer block to make it easier to dock and undock the drone.
Sometimes docking the rover to a base can cause the drone to disconnect from the rover. adding and using the "RT Timer - Dock" timer block to the hotbar instead of the connector will help assist with that issue.
===============

About the Rover:
It's an 8-wheeler with 6 large cargo containers and a medium container for spare parts in case of needing repairs.
Some pistons can raise the rover for easier access to perform repairs and maintenance.
Booster rockets can be turned on/off to help it traverse steep hills or assist with slowing down.
3 batteries keep it powered and provide extra recharge for the mining drone when docked.
When empty it can be a bit light and top-heavy so be careful in the turns. When full it's much more stable.

About the Drone:
The drone have 4 mining drills and a large cargo container and can lift roughly 100,000 Kg max (80 to 90k is recommended).
4 batteries power it up and last about 20 to 30 minutes of active use. Plenty of time to fill the rover with ore.
A central camera gives a good view when working underground and a top mounted camera helps when digging trenches on the surface, like when digging through ice. A rear camera is mounted for docking.
A projector have been mounted to help with repairs in case it gets damaged.

I have uploaded the rover now and it should be good to go. https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2034249194

You would be my hero. I would love to use it.

hello Steelwarrior. I have experimented a bit with a small wheeled miner that can dig its own tunnels and go up and down it by itself even with a full load, it does use pistons but no rotors. I could upload it if you want.

I love your build iv been using it. I recently joined a rover mad max server and I was wondering if you had any ideas for a rover tunnel miner?

@Patchouli - I would recommend an Advanced Rotor with a small rotor head attached to make a small grid docking port with a sorter to pull ore as show in the screenshots. If you don't want to use a rotor I do think a normal large grid connectors works too but it won't be as perfectly aligned with the truck as a small one would be.

@SMooreAce - It's actually not that bad. Only time that could be a problem is if digging in a straight line maybe. Also because of the dust clouds forming while mining the visibility gets basically zero if they're any closer.

Great looking design. But the spread on the drills could make for some complicated drilling.

The Blueprint have been updated with some minor cosmetic and QoL improvements.
Also, thanks for the comments so far, I much appreciate it.

This and the "The Goose" by @Splitsie are my most favorite, beautiful and functional Rover + Miner combo of the workshop.

I love your design, epic.
