Scripted Pokemon Master Trainer HD

Description
Base mod by MarcusRaven https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=726019334

This mod builds off of MarcusRaven's "Pokemon Master Trainer HD" mod by adding VERY helpful scripting for setting up and playing the game. Use the buttons on top of Ash in the bottom left to toggle which expansions you want to use and if you want it to automatically deal each player a starter Pokemon to start the game. When you press "Start Game!", all desired expansions are unpacked and set up, all decks/bags are shuffled, the tokens are set up around the board, starters are dealt if autodeal was selected, and lastly each player's Ash figure is moved to Pallet Town automatically. Absolutely 0 setup time is required this way- just jump straight into the game!

While playing the game, when you capture Pokemon, the game will automatically refill the spot that Pokemon was in!

All Rival cards have a button to auto-roll their attacks and announce the total attack power.

Other minor tweaks include putting the Pokeballs ontop of risers, separating the player figures/dice, moving the hands to the back of the player areas, rearranging the expansions to more convenient spaces, resizing the player areas to better fit the pokemon tokens, and adding Power Point counters to the player areas.

The original rules PDF is available in the black Pokeball in the lower right corner of the board (by the Unknown Dungeon).

I'm glad to hear you like it! I've never actually played any of the other scripted PMT's, so I have no idea what mine has that others don't or vice versa.

There's a somewhat detailed change note if you're super interested, but the basics of what happened was that the board would check the save data's "loaded" variable, but not set the current "loaded" variable to the same as the save data. Basically, games would load properly from a save once, but saving something a second time would always fail.

The script itself is kiiinda spaghetti code, so I don't blame you for not wanting to delve into it too far. :)

Wow, thanks for the quick response! It's working great now. I'm gonna be playing this with some friends in the next few days (probably Saturday) so I really appreciate that you fixed this so quick, thank you :steamhappy:

I was previously planning on just working around it by forcing "loaded" to true (I know enough to see that it detects it, but not enough to fix it myself), but now I don't have to do that anymore hehe

I'm happy for that, since forcing "loaded" to true meant there was no way to use the automatic setup, which isn't essential, but it's definitely really convenient over manually setting everything up

I've checked out some other scripted versions of Master Trainer HD, and this one was is favorite, and now I'm even more sure of that hehe

@ShiningWing The newest update fixes this bug. Thanks again for bringing it to my attention!

I'm glad to hear you like it! I had always assumed the rewind feature just reloaded the most recent quicksave. I'll have to look into it to see what's going on. Thanks for letting me know!

I really like this version, it's my favorite scripted version of Master Trainer (the "find this die" button in particular is very handy)

But it does seem to have a problem, whenever I rewind time, the script breaks (it thinks the game isn't set up, showing the "start game" button again), and it only seems to do this when rewinding time (saving and loading doesn't break it as long as I've never rewound time), not sure why

Yes. Here are the rules:

"You must give one of your Pokemon to any other trainer and take any one of their Pokemon that you want (except Starter Pokemon) in return. The other trainer must accept this trade, or stop you with a Poke Doll Item Card.

Note: If all of the other trainers only have Starter Pokemon, the Trade Pokemon Event Card cannot be used, and is discarded. Also, if you only have a Starter Pokemon, the card cannot be used, and is discarded."

Am I forced to trade with a player if I draw a Trade Up event card?
