Enhanced Fish Mod

Description
This is my first mod which is a work in progress, currently adds 10 new fish:
-Lucky Mimic (Yellow Mimic, has a Luck Aura(+20% Magic find and +50% gold find), high health, but deals little damage)
-Robotic Sushi (Claptrap, has a cannon)
-Icefish (Ice Elemental, regular damage and can slow enemies)
-Venomfish (Poison Elemental, slightly lower damage but summons zombies)
-Firefish (Fire Elemental, higher damage)
-Electric Eel (Electric Elemental, damage can be very high to pretty low (60-200%)
-Mother Fish (Dune Mother, births dune burrowers)
-Doomfish (Varkolyn Warlock, caster that teleports and uses shadow magic)
-Platinum Fish (just a rarer gold fish that is 10x more valuable)
-Big Ol' Vampiric Spider Egg (Adds a 20 minute egg for the vampiric spider)
-Improbably Huge Fish(Adds a 10 minute fish for the troll)
-Adds some giant fish like the Giant Largemouth Bass and Giant Bonefish (mimic and torso respectively)
-More later.

More fish with auras/buffs will be added later! Give me ideas for good auras!

This mod also changes the stack size for all fish to 100. Some of the rarities for fish have changed too. For example, it's easier to get a Giant Crab Egg than it is to get a Giant Firefish.
Now updated with new icons for the new fish! Thanks to this mod: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=145711695
Leave feedback, suggestions, hate mail, anything!

**If you want to disable this mod, but it is bound to your save, make sure you don't have a buff from this mod on your pet. Wait for the buff to expire or feed them a fish from the vanilla game.**

Feel free to use it in your own mod, just let me know that you're doing it and give me credit :)

Claptrap has a powerful cannon. The Elemental pets use boss skills. They are all very destructive. This mod is compatible with the Unlock All Spells mod.

It has been a few years, but I think there is a big and giant version. Should have the same rarity or slightly rarer than others.

Quick question, is there only a 5 minute Claptrap transformation? Or is there also a Big and Giant versions of the "fish"?

That's some good ideas, thanks for looking through that. I've been swamped with work lately but I can try and test this tomorrow

After some experimentation, I chanced on a way to remove the binding. I never tried this method originally, because it seems like it'd just corrupt your save, but quite surprisingly it works.

1. With Enhanced Fish Mod enabled, feed one of the mod's fish to your pet.
2. Save and exit while your pet is transformed.
3. Disable Enhanced Fish Mod and enable Mod Unbinder.
4. Load your character, press Continue when the Unbinder asks.
5. Your pet will now revert to a ferret with a random name, regardless of what it was originally (seems the game has a built-in safety mechanism to revert the pet instead of crashing).
6. Save and exit. Disable Mod Unbinder.
7. If you want, you can now use Rapid Respec to rename and change your pet.

Unfortunately, still doesn't answer why the binding sticks in the first place. Maybe when the pet reverts, it's actually to a form contained in Enhanced Fish Mod, not a vanilla form. Or maybe the pet has a "history" transformations... just guessing here.

Now that seemed to work. I'll look into it more now, thanks for the tips too.

Interestingly, when I use Rapid Respec to view the character, it says that pet type is Unknown after step 9 even though it should be a vanilla badger. It had been a badger up until then (although obviously not in step 7, when the pet was transformed with a mod fish).

This leads me to think that something is messing up the pet getting reverted after the fish runs out. Maybe it keeps a record of fish used? Could there be a way to "clean up" the pet? (Sounds like you need rubber gloves for that...)

I also tried using Rapid Respec to change the pet back to a vanilla badger. After this, Torchlight freezes at the initial load screen, so obviously something's really wrong there. I've successfully changed vanilla pets before with Rapid Respec, even the new ones like the badger. On the other hand, Rapid Respec isn't exactly designed to work with mods, so it could just be that it doesn't know how to handle mod data and messes up the save file.

@Reemer
I created a test character from scratch and was able to reproduce the issue. I've included the steps below. If you want the corresponding save file, I've sent a friend request so I can message you the link.

1. Create a new character with Enhanced Fish Mod active, no other mods (I picked badger as pet, if that makes any difference)
2. Run to the Enclave
3. Save and exit Torchlight (I did this after every event to try to see which one triggered the issue)
4. Fish at town fishing hole until you have at least two fish from the Enhanced Fish Mod (didn't test with less, so I don't know if more than 1 is required)
5. Save and exit
6. Feed one of the mod fish to pet
7. Save and exit
8. Reload, wait for fish effect to run out
9. Save and exit
After this, the mod has been permanently bound to the save file. Using Mod Unbinder allows getting into the game, and the pet is still correctly a badger, but the unbind doesn't stick.

Hope this helps.
