Claptrap has a powerful cannon. The Elemental pets use boss skills. They are all very destructive. This mod is compatible with the Unlock All Spells mod.

@woodyrocky
It has been a few years, but I think there is a big and giant version. Should have the same rarity or slightly rarer than others.

Quick question, is there only a 5 minute Claptrap transformation? Or is there also a Big and Giant versions of the "fish"?

Great job! I added the lucky mimic and its tranforms to my rt gameplay cluster .

how to download?

That's some good ideas, thanks for looking through that. I've been swamped with work lately but I can try and test this tomorrow

After some experimentation, I chanced on a way to remove the binding. I never tried this method originally, because it seems like it'd just corrupt your save, but quite surprisingly it works.

1. With Enhanced Fish Mod enabled, feed one of the mod's fish to your pet.
2. Save and exit while your pet is transformed.
3. Disable Enhanced Fish Mod and enable Mod Unbinder.
4. Load your character, press Continue when the Unbinder asks.
5. Your pet will now revert to a ferret with a random name, regardless of what it was originally (seems the game has a built-in safety mechanism to revert the pet instead of crashing).
6. Save and exit. Disable Mod Unbinder.
7. If you want, you can now use Rapid Respec to rename and change your pet.

Unfortunately, still doesn't answer why the binding sticks in the first place. Maybe when the pet reverts, it's actually to a form contained in Enhanced Fish Mod, not a vanilla form. Or maybe the pet has a "history" transformations... just guessing here.
Reemer  [author] 18 Jun, 2013 @ 4:13pm
Now that seemed to work. I'll look into it more now, thanks for the tips too.
Amun Quoi 18 Jun, 2013 @ 12:51pm
Interestingly, when I use Rapid Respec to view the character, it says that pet type is Unknown after step 9 even though it should be a vanilla badger. It had been a badger up until then (although obviously not in step 7, when the pet was transformed with a mod fish).

This leads me to think that something is messing up the pet getting reverted after the fish runs out. Maybe it keeps a record of fish used? Could there be a way to "clean up" the pet? (Sounds like you need rubber gloves for that...)

I also tried using Rapid Respec to change the pet back to a vanilla badger. After this, Torchlight freezes at the initial load screen, so obviously something's really wrong there. I've successfully changed vanilla pets before with Rapid Respec, even the new ones like the badger. On the other hand, Rapid Respec isn't exactly designed to work with mods, so it could just be that it doesn't know how to handle mod data and messes up the save file.

@Reemer
I created a test character from scratch and was able to reproduce the issue. I've included the steps below. If you want the corresponding save file, I've sent a friend request so I can message you the link.

1. Create a new character with Enhanced Fish Mod active, no other mods (I picked badger as pet, if that makes any difference)
2. Run to the Enclave
3. Save and exit Torchlight (I did this after every event to try to see which one triggered the issue)
4. Fish at town fishing hole until you have at least two fish from the Enhanced Fish Mod (didn't test with less, so I don't know if more than 1 is required)
5. Save and exit
6. Feed one of the mod fish to pet
7. Save and exit
8. Reload, wait for fish effect to run out
9. Save and exit
After this, the mod has been permanently bound to the save file. Using Mod Unbinder allows getting into the game, and the pet is still correctly a badger, but the unbind doesn't stick.

Hope this helps.

This is the same problem Wookiee and I had, could play fine with the Unbinder but not write the status back to the save. Needed the Unbinder every time.

Sorry Reemer, I don't think I have the save any longer for you to investigate :(
Reemer  [author] 17 Jun, 2013 @ 4:25pm
@Amun Quoi
I'm not even lying, I can't seem to replicate what you had happen. The mod only binds when I quit with a fish active, then using the mod unbinder works fine. Could you send me a save file or something so I can try it out sometime? What other mods do you have installed? I want this to get fixed but I don't really know how.
Amun Quoi 17 Jun, 2013 @ 11:22am
I can't unbind either. Used 5-minute versions of Firefish, Electric Eel and Mother Fish. The crawlers spawned by the Mother Fish got stuck in Zeryphesh and wouldn't go away even after reloading, so I had to reroll the world to get rid of them. I waited for my pet to revert to its original form, sold all my fish, rerolled the world again, and saved.

However, I still can't get the mod unbound. I've tried both Mod Unbinder and Torchlight Rapid Respec. To be precise, the unbinding works and I can play once without the mod, but when I try to play again, the binding has returned and the game requires Enhanced Fish again. I even tried feeding my pet a vanilla fish while I was playing without Enhanced Fish, but the unbinding still didn't stick.
DeathbyWookiee 11 Jun, 2013 @ 10:14am
I used Claptrap twice for 5 mins at a time and had the same problem as MushaConvoy with the save. No other fish were in my inventory or active at the time.
MushaConvoy 10 Jun, 2013 @ 10:11pm
Thanks for the update - I never had any permanent buffs, just temporary 5 and 15 minute ones. The "Mod Unbinder" removed all extra fish from the inventory and was able to play fine without the mod, but was unable to write the "unbound" status back to the save. Still had a headcrab running around.
Reemer  [author] 10 Jun, 2013 @ 2:58pm
@MushaConvoy and @DeathbyWookiee
I found that my mod was bound to save only when you have a fish buff from the mod active on your pet. To stop this, you can just feed your pet another fish from the original game, such as the Warsnout, or wait for the time to run out. It worked for me, but let me know if it doesn't for you.
DeathbyWookiee 6 Jun, 2013 @ 10:22am
If youre adding this mod for Clappy, dont, because once the mod is on it cant be removed and you wont use him after the first 5 mins off him spewing the same catch phrase constantly. Really dissapointing that this mod is bound to the save.
tone down the claptalk, unbind the save and you have a 5 star mod.
MushaConvoy 6 Jun, 2013 @ 10:04am
I tried out the mod, it was pretty cool - liked seeing Claptrap and all, but seriously - update this to unbind. I've tried the Mod Unbinder, it doesn't work for this mod. It deletes any fish you have, but still ties the save to the mod. Theres no reason for it to bind, it just adds fish. Will change my vote to a thumbs up if this can be done, until then I recommend avoiding this mod for your save will be locked to it.

Right on, that makes this easy, I will change the Display name of mine to reflect this. Thanks for the quick response :)
Reemer  [author] 30 May, 2013 @ 10:02am
@Xalderon
The name is "Gold Fish Big"
Oats 30 May, 2013 @ 9:56am
Hello, In my mod Master Angler, I included a fish very similar to yours called a Platinum Fish. Yours appears to be worth much more but what I was actually wondering was actually about conflicts. What actual NAME does the fish have? I would be more than happy to change mine if the two conflict so people can use both mods without confusion. I really just need to know so that I know if the filename, name, and displaynames all need to be changed.

Thanks for your help.

@ShinsFortress rebut*
I never said he wasn't entitled to his opinion, just that I disagreed with it, and pointed out the logical flaws in his thinking. Regardless, I was really just more confused as to why he had to pass up the entire game because one mod for the game happens to contain the word "fuck." Were the mod to have come out after he had given the game to his nephew, would he suddenly go to his nephew and say, "Oh, sorry kid, some optionally downloadable content contains swearing, so you're going to have to not play Torchlight, okay, bud?"

Also missed this on my last post: that first "is" should be "in." My bad.
ShinsFortress 27 May, 2013 @ 4:20pm
hard2say: and your english is much better? "you're", *shake head*. Anyway, timothy3_16 is just as entitled to an opinion and to voice it, as Haltheleon is to attempt to rebutt it.

@timothy3_16 I'm a Christian, and I use this mod. It's not like I spend hours reading the descriptions and gasping in horror.

timothy3_16 You're punctuation fuckin' sucks. That is all.

Much approval, Hatheleon.
Haltheleon 26 May, 2013 @ 5:07pm
@timothy3_16 If a modder decides to use profanity is his or her mod, that is the modder's prerogative. Your disapproval is irrelevant to the fact that he has every right to put whatever he pleases in his mod. If you don't like it, simply don't download it, but there are plenty of us within the gaming community that have no problem with profanity, nudity, alcohol, violence, etc. Perhaps he had considered the fact that children would play this game, but did not intend for his mod to be used by them. Again, the fix would be to not download the mod. The fact that a single mod that is optional to download could affect your decision as to whether or not to buy the game itself is astounding to me. What your belief in Jesus has to do with ANYTHING, I couldn't say, because I'd say you're a prude regardless of what religious views you hold.
timothy3_16 26 May, 2013 @ 4:07pm
so sad, the mod in and of itself is absolutely a fantastic fun idea, then ya blow it with the verbage ... would never subscribe, was considering to buy the game for my nephew, you just sealed the answer ... NO WAY ... consider that there is children that play when you make your mods ... the devs did not put an AFFIX or SPAWNCLASS or SKILL , nothing in the game with that language, we as players and mod makers should respect each other and not use that language either ... and DO NOT BLAME MY BELIEVING IN JESUS FOT THIS ... I would have posted it as a parent and because morals should reflect better of it

Sounds great I like your thinking
think you could have a pet that has a fire aura that inturns work on you and damages all other monsters?
Reemer  [author] 24 May, 2013 @ 11:12am
Well, I want there to be a pet for any class. If you are a tank, there should be a caster pet, if you are a caster there should be a tanky pet. Then I was thinking of adding some pets with different auras, such as a pet that doesn't do much damage and might have some higher defenses, but it has an aura that increases your gold and magic find. And maybe I'd add some unique/legendary pet tags and collars. All in due time though.
Goro3D 24 May, 2013 @ 10:38am
hmm sounds interesting just wondering when we can expect a final finished mod?
