Tomb Dwellers [2.3]

Description
Ever wanted to make an Empire that lives on Tomb Worlds because a living planet is totally inhospitable or unnecessary to them? Wanted to make a race of fanatic purifiers who bombard enemy planets into desolate wastelands, fit for them to take over? Ever wanted an empire where your enemies don't want to invade your planets, because nothing awaits them there other than death?

Now you can!

Tomb Dwellers reworks the base-game's "Tomb world preference" trait to make it more roleplay friendly and inkeeping with the rest of the game's preferences.

Instead of Tomb World Preference granting +80% habitability rating for Tomb planets and and +60% habitability for all other planet types, it now grants +80% habitability for Tomb planets and -10% habitability for all other planets. including Gaia!
This means you finally have a reason to bomb enemy planets into rubble, turning them into perfect worlds for your deathly host.

This is both a nerf and a buff for Tomb world preference: you lose the ability to inhabit normal worlds, but you can easily turn any enemy world into a tomb world perfect for you, but which will then be nearly impossible for them to take back without terraforming or late game research/traditions!

I made this mod for personal use playing as a Fanatic Purifier faction based on the Necrons from WH40K. Now I can devastate entire civilisations and live amongst their ruins, rather than have to deal with all those annoying pops that need purging!

N.B. Even if this mod is marked as outdated, it won't be broken. The only thing that could break this mod is a total rework to the traits or planetary preference systems which is highly unlikely. You'll get the red exclamation [!] warning you the mod is out of date, but that's just because the version number in the mod file is wrong, the content of the mod will still work.

This mod is incredibly low weight and should be compatible with most other mods (as long as they don't interfere with Tomb World preferences). I have personally tested it and had no issues with:

Is it not up to date? Regardless, it's a very small tweak mod so even if it says outdated it doesn't matter, it'll still function as usual.

Uggh I do miss when the Survivor trait use to actually give you tomb world preference since it allowed to to potentually have atleast 70% to about 80% habitability on most worlds and while this can be extremely powerful I do feel like the Robots do this better since they get a 100% habitability bonus so I feel as if Paradox should allow the Survivor trait to grant more habitability in exchange for something else like for instance you could make them breed slower cause of the radiation, or reduce leader life span cause being die faster, maybe because they've been mutated they could be repugnant and produce less amenities or make them somewhat weak due to it radiation weakening there bones and so forth and so on though I also feel as if they should have a way to get rid of some of those negative starting modifiers through tech or overtime but again this is just my personal opinion.

No worries man. I'll admit, this basically is a nerf to the Tomb World preference, but because of certain mechanics in the game you can twist it into a buff. This mod just accentuates that.

My apologize for the misunderstanding.

@Eragon Minou you've missed the point of this mod. This isn't just here to affect habitability, it's here to change the way aggressive Tomb World preference species can be played. SInce they added the ability to armageddon bomb enemy planets into Tomb Worlds, you can bomb and take worlds from your enemies that will then lose all habitability for them. It's not about being Robots with max habitability, it's about burning half the galaxy and being the only one who can capitalise on it.

The new update a while back nerfed the heck out of Survivor trait however I do feel as if you should re add tomb world preference to Survivor trait and allows them to have atleast 60% habitability on most worlds HOWEVER I do feel there should be another trade off in greatly reducing there population growth by a nasty 20% or even 40% but this is just my opinion cause why would you want tomb world preference when you can just turn your population into robots which get 100% habitability though they might also get hit with the nerf stick.
