Description
Makes Banana Plantations give 2 more Production than in the unmodded game, or 1 more if the terrain below the Jungle is non-Hill Grassland (but do note that Grassland below Jungle is rare).

Previously, Banana Plantations gave +2 Food and -1 Production to Banana Tiles, as well as remove the effects of the Jungle on it when it is chopped. This mod changes the -1 Production of Banana Plantations to +1, making Banana Plantations more attractive especially in Jungle starts where Production is scarce. In the unmodded game it is more ideal to keep the Jungle for +2 Science when the city has a University, making Bananas the only resource where the reasons against improving it outweigh the reasons for improving it.

The effective yields of unimproved/improved Banana Tiles in the unmodded/modded game, in different terrain conditions, are summarised in this spreadsheet[docs.google.com]. The parentheses indicate the effect of the terrain/resource/improvement on the base tile's yield. Do note that Jungles are only found on Open Plains or Plains Hills. (There are a few sources which say they can appear on Grassland, but that is a misconception. There is a bug in the map editor where Jungle can only be placed on Grassland and not Plains. This is because the game can only spawn Jungle on Grassland, but then changes the Grassland underneath the Jungle into Plains.) I stand corrected, Jungles spawn on both Plains and Grassland, giving a yield of 3 Food when Jungle appears on a non-Hill Grassland tile, and 2 Food otherwise. Because a 3 Food tile on Turn 0 is pretty powerful for growth, most (but not all) Grassland tiles under Jungle is changed to Plains when the map is created. Updated the spreadsheet to include data for Grassland tiles.

This works with my other mods.

Great mod. Really helps with jungle starts.
