I'd always found it odd that your colonists instantly knew how to design and construct firearms, just by building a machining table. Guns are a specialised kind of engineering, and require specific knowledge in that field. This mod aimed to replicate the technological progression of gunsmithing, but has since expanded to feature more varied turrets, and a whole slew of bonus weapons! Whilst B18 did add Tech Progression for weapons, I still feel as though it's not as accurate as it could or should be, so my own progression will still remain.

Weapons have been split into 8 research topics
In order, they are:

Gunpowder - Caliver, Matchlock Pistol - Smithy/Machining Table
Breech-Loading - Breech-loader, Double-Barrel Shotgun - Smithy/Machining Table
Repeating Actions - Revolver, Pump Shotgun, Lever-Action, Bolt-Action Rifle - Smithy/Machining Table
Optics - Sniper Rifle - Smithy/Machining Table
Self-loading Actions - Pistol, Submachine Gun, Automatic Shotgun, Assault Rifle, Battle Rifle, Light Machine Gun - Machining Table
Multibarrel Weapons - Minigun - Machining Table
Charged Shot - Charge Pistol, Charge Carbine, Charge Rifle - Fabrication Bench

Advanced Grenades - Frag Grenade, Molotov Cocktail, EMP grenade - Machining Table
Grenade Launchers - Grenade Launcher, Incendiary Launcher - Machining Table

Introducing bonus weapons!

Tired of seeing hundreds of pawns from a multitude of diverse backgrounds with the EXACT same 4 weapons as the last group? Well, you're in luck! These weapons are only available via trade or by scavenging from fallen enemies. Not all of these weapons are necessarily better than your current arsenal, but hey, not all settlements are so well-versed in firearms design!

Current number of bonus weapons in circulation: 39

More varied Turrets!

Designed to better make use of unwanted LMGs, GPMGs, and Miniguns, mannable turrets are more accurate than firing off-hand, but lack mobility and versatility. They require the desired weapon to be included in the construction, rather than everything being built from scratch.


Most recent update:
Update 5f

Added Polymer Submachine Gun.
Added Polymer Light Support Weapon.
Increased all the mannable turrets' accuracy.
Updated textures for the Sporting Rifle, Assault Rifle, Service Rifle, Polymer Bullpup Rifle, Weighted weapons family, and Combat weapons family.

@Janson To fix the version tag you need to load the mod in B19 and "update" it from that version, whenever you upload it tags it as the version you are uploading from.

Janson - thank you! Ive been looking for other weapon-mods to bridge the time until you shalt return. None quenched my thirst as yours did!

(decent number of different models, fitting well with vanilla and not too futuristic)
