These will help new players ease into Insurgency.
Improves the distinction between friendlies and enemies, makes it easier to see items and reduces loudness in some sounds.

Mods don't always work on every server.
They all depend on whether the server owner enables them.
You can filter out for mod-supported servers by ticking the 'mod support' square in the coop server browser page at the bottom.

Be careful for heavily modded servers though because they can break some of your mods.
You can fix that by restarting Insurgency and then going to a more vanilla (close to default insurgency) server.

Please don't forget to try out the training / tutorial gamemode in Solo to have a good idea of how the game works.
Adjust your hotkeys to where you're most comfortable.
You can also try the different maps and gamemodes alone in Solo first if you're more comfortable with that.
