A. Preface
-----------

In the tounge of the dragons, Lokgol means sky and earth. Lokgol Keep is a player home mod located in the far north. It is a home primarily designed for high level mage type characters, but characters of a more stealthy or stabby persuasion are sure to find themselves something to tickle their fancy within the walls of Lokgol keep. This project represents hours of design work and learning how to use the Skyrim Creation Kit. I hope you enjoy it.

B. Features
-------------

- Dozens and dozens of safe containers. All containers located in the great hall area, the tower area or the tower basement should be safe, except for the various mead containers. THE MEAD CONTAINERS RESPAWN. So don't store your loot in them. I also make no guarantees about the safety of any of the secret areas or the crypt.

- Several mannequins, shield plaques, weapon racks, display cases and weapon plaques to store all of your hard won loot. Note: Some of the display cases are not weapon racks. This is to give the player a place to display non-weapon knick-knacks.

- Plenty of crafting facilities: Cooking pots, enchanting altars, alchemy tables and a full smithing work station.

- Easy access to all nine altars to the divines.

- Your own private garden full of alchemy ingredient producing plants.

- A teleportation stone that can send you to any of Skyrim's main cities.

- A library containing tons of working bookshelves.

- Several secret areas containing powerful enemies and special weapons. Note: the weapons scattered about the tower come in two flavors. Some are weapons of strength with a high level Chillrend. The others are unenchanted and unenchantable weapons that are a hair stronger than daedric.

- Five new spells hidden throughout. These spells are balanced around existing spells, and are not any stronger than what you can already find in the game.

- Quick travel between the top and bottom floor of the tower.

- A nearly immortal Frost Atronach for you to train your skills on. Note: Mehrunes Razor can still kill him. I suspect a strong enough x12 sneak attack could too.

- A crypt area containing a powerful boss.

- A rich merchant to buy your stuff. Note: His will only buy and sell the things that a blacksmith will buy and sell. Invest a couple of perks into speechcraft and get merchant if you want him to be able to buy other things. He has some hidden inventory he will sell you if you have the merchant perk too.

- Includes a great hall, kitchen, wine cellar, servants quarters, guest rooms, library, and crafting lab.

-Thousands of hand placed objects including food and drink, furniture, carpets and statues.

- Eastwood the pigmy Sabrecat.

C. Obtaining Lokgol Keep
----------------------------

Lokgol Keep is a home meant for a high leveled player. To obtain the home, one simply must find retrieve the key. The key is in a strongbox next to the Wordwall in Ragnvald. Or, in other words, you can claim Lokgol Keep by prying it from Otar's cold dead hands.

The keep itself is located directly north of Northwatch Keep, on an island jutting out of the sea.

Alternately, if you don't want to go to the trouble of getting the key from Ragnvald, you can use the console command "coc wizardskeepgreathall." A spare key is kept in the strongbox on the top floor.

D. Notes and Warnings
-----------------------

1. Not all of the containers are safe. I repeat. NOT ALL OF THE CONTAINERS ARE SAFE. I have triple checked every container in the tower, tower basement and great hall area (including the servants quarters, trophy room, kitchen and wine cellar) and only THE MEAND CONTAINERS RESPAWN. Outside of these three zones, some containers are safe and some are not. Tread carefully.

2. The Navigation paths are a little wonky. This is a problem with the Creation Kit. If there is enough interest to warrant future updates, I will certainly address this should a solution make itself availiable.

3. Sometimes the mountain surrounding Lokgol keep vanishes. This is another known problem with the creation kit where placed objects of a certain size will not render properly. This leaves Lokgol keep resting on a rather uninteresting looking lump instead of a gorgeous Skyrim mountain. Should an official fix become available, or should some wonderful bored geek (my favorite people) figure something out, I will fix it. Of course, this problem seems to only occur sometimes, so you might not even notice it.

4. Mannequins in Skyrim like to move. Mine are no exceptions. Reloading the cell fixes this issue.

5. The areas in this mod are busy. Expect some frame rate drops if your computer struggles with Skyrim.

6. I am but one person, so I am sure there still remains a few bugs in this mod. If you find one, please let me know in the comments. Assuming there is enough interest to justify updates, I will fix the problems as I find them. On a related note, I am not responsible for your lost items. Like any mod, you should make a clean save before using Lokgol Keep.

E. Future Plans
-----------------

There are several things I would like to do to improve Lokgol tower including:

-Create additional textures to give the tower a more unique look
-Create unique containers for the wine cellar so the game does not have to render each individual bottle of mead and wine
-Create unique weapon textures
-Create an alchemy sorting device in the lab
-Add a teleportation spell
-Let the player interact with Eastwood
-Put something on the roof
-Add the ability to recruit two or three people to live in Lokgol Keep
-Allow spouses to move into Lokgol keep with you.

If anyone wishes to contribute their skills towards improving this tower, let me know. I will be more than happy to give you full credit for your work

think you could do a mage tower home that is made from the floating towers/castle parts of the soul cairn on a hill in skyrim near riverwood with it's own invincible friendly soul cairn skeleton guards?

@Gemini Man; i don't know why you've been missing in action for all this time. it's really too bad. you had a great mod that only needed a few bugs worked out. unfortunetely your mod conflicts with Dawnguard. if you ever get back to working on updates, i suggest you make sure it is compatible with the 1.7.6 patch, Dawnguard and now Hearthfire. take care

The keep is in the same location as the Vampire castle in the Dawnguard DLC... Could you perhaps move it to anoter location?

When I walk up the steps to the Keep, the game closes.

I just have to ask. I have used Mountain Crest. And I loved it. But for some reason I just could not stick with it.
I am trying this mod, and it looks great! But is this a on-going project? Will you keep wokring on it? :)
But anyways... Mod is looking good! Love that it's kind of "hidden" and that there is an interesting way to get the key! :D

MORT CANNOT DIE!! WTF!!

Cool place. But what's the deal with The Eye of the World? Those enemies are way too overpowered. They wipe out my level 61 character in a few hits, even on Novice difficulty. It's easier to kill the near Immortal Mort than take even a bit of health off one of those guys before they've killed you.

@Gemini Man; since you haven't updated yet, i thought you should know i found another small bug. in the transference void theres a small alcove [indent in the wall] where if you walk into it, you fall down, down, down into a dark void. boy i hate being the bearer of bad news. hope your work on the update is going smoothly. take care.
