Swedish GFX

Description
This mod adds a couple of new technology icons and descriptions to the Swedish tech trees. Unique icons have been added to aircraft, tanks, artillery, ships and infantry equipment, these mimic the style of Paradox's own vanilla icons.

Where Sweden didn't have any designs of their own, I added in icons of aircraft and tanks that are not historical. This is to fill any buttons that would otherwise get a black generic icon, as it would otherwise make the technology trees look patchy. I decided I wanted to play around with the idea of making some designs of my own, where no domestic models were otherwise available. This was done with the doctrines of Sweden as inspiration.

Should be compatible with anything that doesn't touch or mess with Sweden's GFX or the general tech-types. It won't work with any of the major conversion mods unless they use the normal technology trees that the base game uses, or graphics relating to Sweden isn't in any way edited or overrided.

If only playing with this mod on, then Ironman mode can be enabled if you want to go for achievements.

If you have any suggestions, or there is something you want to comment then do go ahead and do so in the relevant channels. If you or your mod-group want to incorporate my icons into your larger mod, then please ask in the comment field below. When asking, state which mod-project you are representing by name, and provide a link to your project's Steam Workshop page. This is for ease of keeping track of what mods are using my mod.

The following mods and creators/representative of mods have asked and received permission to use this mod within their own works:
- stjern (Total War Mod)
- Abbus (Road to 56 Mod)
- PPsyrius (Kaiserreich Mod)
- HuginX (Swedor Mod)
- feuerdoge (Sweden Expanded Mod)
- Snusmumriken (Sweden: Krigsåren)

CURRENTLY DOES NOT HAVE (FULL) NSB SUPPORT, BUT WORKS FINE IF THE DLC IS DISABLED
Thank you for reading the description. Usually the information you need you find here.

For those wondering if I'm going to update this mod, the answer to that question is that I'd like to.

The primary issue with this is rather when. Primarily, this is due to the fact that I've entered university not too long ago, which leaves me quite short on time to to many things besides schoolwork.

By my own estimate, I'd imagine that I'd be available to update this mod sometime around Christmas, presumably. Though, it remains to be seen.

I haven't abandoned this project yet, so it will be updated whenever I have the time to do so.

Either way, I'm happy that there is still some interest in this little mod of mine. Cheers! :Eagle_hoi:

@nikolai98 That's odd; I'll look into it to see what's up in the code when I have the time.

@John Armfeldt

Quite unlikely in terms of making unique models, since I don't have the skills to do so. In terms of giving generic models new textures with a more Swedish touch, that is more do-able. Especially so for light tanks, as the generic light tank model is a Swedish Strv. m/39!

Other than this, I don't really think I can do much more modding of the models as I am now.

Either way, I'm happy you like my mod! I hope it can bring much enjoyment to playing as Sweden in the future as well.

Any Chance you'll add vehicle models, both swedified generic or known imports and domestic creations in a models mod for selection?.

Btw this mod kicks ass, whenever i play a mod overhauling sweden without gfx i use this one, makes it 1000x better even if the units on the map aren't the same.

After further testing, the mod is now decently stable. All tech-tree icons for the NSB-tree have been added, though there are no GFX varieties in the tank designer; that will be the future focus of the mod's development.

Cheers!

Varning!

I managed by accident to push some unfinished content onto the actual mod subscription, so if any issues are encountered when using the mod as-is now, then I apologize in advance for any issues related to using this mod with or without NSB.

I'm trying to sort this out as fast as I can, so I hope there wont be anything too major breaking before I can get to correcting it.

Alrighty, I've fixed some bugs that have been in the mod for a while now, though the solution I got was unsatisfactory.

I discovered that PDX seem to not have added any separation between the NSB and non-NSB armour tech-trees for Amphibious Tanks, Super Heavy Tanks and Modern Tanks; as a consequence, it is possible that icons intended for the non-NSB tree will appear in the NSB tree as of the current version.

I cannot verify this, however, since I do not own the NSB DLC. The only lead I have is that to make the aforementioned equipment icons to appear is by using code meant for tank chassis in NSB. Therefore, reporting any bugs NSB players might experience with this mod is of exceptional importance to the mod's future compatability with NSB. While the means to properly fix any such issues with the equipment types mentioned prior is out of my hands at the moment, I will still catalogue any bugs encountered for later fixing.
