What are the Armored Vipers?

Well this mod has been in production for a very long time. Not that it was hard to create but lots was made from scratch. The original concept came from a now 2 year old concept that deviantart artist Lethal Doors created. many people said his art would be awesome as a real enemy in XCom 2.

As soon as I spotted his art, I said that I needed to have an Armored Viper in the game. I first asked fellow mod author Claus to help out and he agreed and the project started. Claus created the mesh and textures from the ground up with some input. Later fellow mod authors ObelixDk and Hulk jumped in and refined the mesh and textures. Add in the coding by myself and some added coding help from mod member Ginger... and we got not 1 but 2 Armored Vipers.

The finished look while inspired by the original art, took on a life of its own and even spawned a Armored Psi Viper too ;)

ARMORED VIPER: The Armored Viper does everything his non armored female counterpart does, except he is you guessed it... armored up. He is immune to poison like other vipers but the armor grants fire immunity as well. He also has blast padding from the armor. His Viper Gatling Rifle is a heavier viper rifle that hits harder and can shred armor.

ARMORED PSI VIPER: A tougher Psi based version of the base Armored Viper, the Armored Psi Viper changes it up a bit. He can still bind like the normal viper but does not have the ability to pull you to him. Instead he will come to you.
The Armored Psi Viper has many ways to hurt you. He has his own Psi Gatling Rifle that also hits hard but instead of shredding armor, it ignores it to deal its damage.

The Armored Psi Viper also has a Vorpal Blade that it can use. It will rush you and slash with a Vorpal Slash attack that if hits, will also ignore armor AND shields to do its damage. The Vorpal Blade can cause burning to the target. The Blade also has the Rend Ability and with it, the Armored Psi Viper can generate Focus. With this Focus, it can spit its own Volt attack (lightning) at 1 or multiple targets depending on how much Focus it has stored up. Last but not least, where the Viper has her poison spit, the Armored Psi Viper has a Psi Spit that will poison a single target but acts like a Sectoid's Mind Spin. Yes that means it might even mind control you with this Psi Spit attack.

Each Viper has a autopsy and research project. Once you have corpses and have researched alien biotech and plasma rifles you'll be able to build the Beam Gatling Rifle. And once you research alien biotech, plasma rifles and psionics, you'll be able to build the Vorpal Gatling Rifle and Vorpal Blade. The Beam Gatling Rifle can be used by any soldier that can use a rifle, the Vorpal Gatling Rifle can be use by the Psi Ops/Psi class and the Vorpal Blade can be used by the Ranger. The Vorpal Slash does not use all AP so if you lead with it, you can then follow up with a normal Sword Slash.

All Armored Vipers now have a chance to drop added items (not to be included in timed loot drops)
These drops might happen when the corpse is dropped.

EleriumDust "crystals" = Orange (gives 1 crystal)
AlienAlloy = Orange (gives 1 alloy) *Will only have the orange text for these item drop if using linked mod below *

If you do not want the extra item drops, you can go into XComGameCore and change the corpse drop settings.

why there is no corpse i can do research??? i just kill the Viper and it shows i have a corpse. but there is no research that i can do about Beam Gatling Rifle or other Viper guns

For those who can't get regular viper corses due to these guys spawning in, I recommend doing the Alien Nest mission, tons of free corpses

This still appears in my game, but dose not show up, only an image icon box instead. It use to be ok, but not now. Anyone else having this problem? or fixes for it?

After reading the bug reports, I guess I have too many enemy creatures spawning from a few other mods causing the issue. I have eight different enemy types that will spawn resulting in a low chance of regular vipers spawning...Of well, more fun this way will use console if I need to.

Nice mod, however there is an issue. They appear too soon before I had a chance to research regular viper to get battlefield medicine. Had to add a corpse from the console so I could research it.. thanks.

would be awesome if you could recruite these
