Clear Waters

Description
All credit for this mod goes to Sir_Moodz/Peaceman. I simply used the blend files he provided to me on Discord and applied Keen's transparent materials as best I could.
Changes:
- Surface reflections on the water! They can take a few seconds to adjust, sometimes you might need to be patient.
- Surface backface! Underwater is a bit more interesting now.
- Underwater "fog" (I may refine this in the future)
- Less blinding HUD overlay when underwater! (I'm thinking I'm going to tweak this in the very near future)

Enjoy!

____________
12/14/24 Update
Ended The Great Flood™

____________
3/19/19 Update
- Fixed max game version for mod.
- Added blue coloration and texture to the water and fog.
- Additional transparntmaterial fine-tuning.
NOTE: Sometimes the fog will seem to be glowing during dawn and dusk. I will try to look into this, but if there is popular demand I can fix the issue by outright removing coloration on the fog materials.
____________
11/4/18 Update
- Fixed GUI overlay transparency; you should be able to see underwater again.
(Not actually entirely sure why this broke in the first place, but remaking the texture seems to have done the trick)

This mod is great especially considering I didnt like the fake looking water texture from the original mod. But I do think it would be better if the top layer was a bit darker/foggier since high rising parts of the ocean floor look almost indistinguishable from normal land.

Would it be possible to make the clarity adjustable? Completely clear is a little off-putting and vanilla isn't great either but if there was a sliding scale for clarity...? Maybe have one that adds detritus (suspended floating debris) with a sliding scale as well.

It would be great if we could get waves eventually and currents, for rivers and streams. Placeable water with physics would be sick af.

I like how the Waterworks mod ties the water table to the clay layer.

Don't mind me rambling, just thinking aloud.

@tobyman59 This mod requires the water mod. It just changes the material of the water to be transparent

I have found snow, but I can't see water on the world or on the map, dp I need some other mod

Great job, water without clear was just not the same. Thanks!

@lupinemaxx Thanks for your patience, and I'm glad you enjoy! :)

@Nubeees: Successful test! As angry as I am at Marek Rosa for totally abandoning ME it is still a very unique game that has no comparisons and I enjoy coming back to it.

This mod is KEY for me building on a water world. I do everything in survival. Water is nice but trying to locate a building site with a good harbor is impossible if you can't get a good depth sounding or see the ocean floor.

Means: You really need to see it to believe it.

As a rule RL comes first. I entirely understand the wait for this fix and deadlines that need to be faced down first. I am nothing but appreciative.

Done. Clear waters should be working again.

@lupinemaxx your timing could not have been any better. I just so happen to be using the correct computer at the moment, and just so happen to have finished the major deadline which was eating all of my spare time for the past month.

Working on a fix now. Need to wait for pretty much my entire games library to update though

Glad to hear that the multi-layered water effect is known about. I was away since the summer and came back to my rather large creation of coastal villages half submerged in 'ghost waters'. I'll check from time to time to see when this is corrected. Peace.
