Description
The Farragut Class OCAS (Omni-Cruiser/Assault Ship) is a size class 5, dual main thruster/dual secondary thruster warship that combines cruiser-like decent armor and performance with the capabilities of a tactical fighter carrier, along with vast internal hanger space for even more small vessels/fighters, or for rapidly deployable HV/armor forces planetside. The upper deck has capacity for 10 small vessels/fighters while the inner hanger decks have capacity for either 12 more small vessels/fighters, or 12 HV tanks/ APCs/IFVs, total vessel capacity is 22 vehicles carried.

All vital components have redundant backups and are heavily firewalled for maximum durability. Dual bridge design allows for maximum pilot visibility during non-combat on the top side "1st Bridge", and a "Battle Bridge" deep inside the ship for use during combat to protect pilot and passenger/gunners. The Farragut Class OCAS is primarily a support warship and not intended as a "ship of the line". It has strong defenses and armor, but the primary design purpose is either to act as a fast carrier of fighter craft, or to rapidly deploy an assault force to the surface of a planet. Best results when escorted by a destroyer or cruiser class vessel (optimal escort = Mako Class Battlecruiser).

The Farragut Class OCAS is a flexible element of the Fleet Tactical Battlegroup doctrine, operating in nearly all roles needed, though not intended as a "ship of the line" combatant. It is capable of operating is such circumstances for limited time if needed for delivery of forces under fire, but not recommended to take on battleships/heavy combatants directly. Optimized for roles as fast fleet carrier, delivering up to 22 fighters to the fight, or as a planetary surface assault craft, carrying a full 12 tank company of Hammer III Panzer supported by 10 light/medium fighters.

The OCAS (Omni-Cruiser/Assault Ship) is a direct evolution of the Omni-Cruiser development concept co-developed with Gamedazed. Farragut is the second hull generation of the Omni-Cruiser concept, the first being an internal S.W.O.R.D. Corp. build called the "Wraith Dragoon" project (hint: Project Wraith Dragoon ships shown in background, one a hospital ship version, another in Fleet Command colors) based on a heavily modified and repurposed Cavalier class troop transport ship turned into a heavy assault hybrid carrier/cruiser/transport. The Farragut continues that tradition with the flexibility of a multirole warship.

All Fleet Tactical Battlegroup doctrine certified ships adhere to basic survival rules and are limited to size class 5 as the largest vessel, and scale downwards from there. While usable in single player survival, all Fleet Tactical Battlegroup doctrine ships shine brightest when used in multiplayer with a team of players. All ships are MP and PvP ready, having heavily firewalled internal components and dual bridges (one bridge for normal flight/PvE, secondary bridge internally for PvP called a "battle bridge").

New versions of the Farragut are on temporary hold while other ships are added to the Fleet Tactical Battlegroup Doctrine ships. I will come back to Farragut for new versions soon though.

Can't wait to see the new mods!

The texture spot is combat steel blocks. I tried to replicate the design you had but was quite hard to see the divider in the center so I changed the color a bit. I also made a small bridge over the edge of the hanger doors on the top deck which means that walk space on the side can be filled in if you want,

Do not feel bad about experimenting and ripping something apart to make it like you want. That's all part of the process. And the spot that's not accepting texturing may be the backside of the under turrets, texturing those spots are weird. I left it untextured so not to mess up the runway appearance, personally, but feel free to go whatever direction you want to.

Tried texturing and ran into an issue I cant figure out.

Theres a spot in the landing lights that is inverted and its driving me nuts... It breaks everything near the one end of the upper deck.

I'll have to work on extending the elevator down and whatnow unless I make a walkway up the side of the wall for people. I do feel bad about tearing down alot of your work for this but I'll try to redo the textures to match the original design

Forgot to add that I placed a leveling platform for hovers to address my issue with the skyhammer docking

I'm using half blocks for the expansion of the top flight deck and might replace the entier top flgiht deck with half blocks for the reduction of weight. Sure armors cut in half but you could also add a second layer to compensate and in the prossess it works as a form of splash negation if I recall correctly
