Ni'Hal Drake Gear 1.0-1.2

Description
A mod for those who find the Ni'Hal drakes less... terrifying than you'd hoped, giving them some solid armor to protect them from attack.

Numbers applied to the armors are up for debate. If you think it should be lower/higher/tweaked, tell me what and why and I'll definitely consider it.

Armor Values:

Armor - 0.95 armor multiplier - w/steel means 0.85 sharp 0.4 blunt 0.65 heat (legs/torso/head/neck/tail)
-The Drake Armor is the main part of this mod. Heavy metal plating covering just about every part of the body, designed to take a beating over extended use. Protects a bit against the cold, pretty important for the drake.

Powered Armor (Drake Plate) - 1.2 armor multiplier (legs/torso/head/neck/tail)
+0.2 movement
- Powered Drake Armor is supposed to be borderline-OP armor for drakes, both improving on the normal armor's protection and giving the drake some additional movement speed, making them yet more powerful attack animals. Said powered armor, however, is pretty darned expensive.

Coat - 0.3 armor multiplier (legs/neck)
-The coat is primarily a support item to increase the drake's availability slightly in colder climates, where its natural aversion to lower temperatures limits its use. Armor protection from it is therefore rather limited, but it is cheap. The coat can be worn over either of the armor types for some schnazzy-looking (and obscenely durable) drakes.

Natural - 0.5 Blunt, 0.3 Sharp, 0.6 Heat
-Drakes seem pretty under-equipped normally to handle any sort of punishment, what with their having no armor in the original Ni'Hal mod. This struck me as weird, considering they're described as dragon-like. Therefore, their natural scales got some improvements, just under the armor values thrumbos have.
(Does Heat armor protect against frostbite? If it does, I'll probably lower the natural Heat protection some.)

If you find any issues with the mod, please send them to the development/bugs discussion. While I don't really know how to code beyond basing things off of others' work, I don't plan on letting this mod sit incomplete.

Thanks to Dylan (Animal Gear dev) for helping immensely with setting up the drakes for armoring, and of course the base Animal Gear mod itself.
Thanks to Diana (Ni'Hal dev) for the original Ni'Hal mod, plus their counterpart the Orassans because those cats are great.

Uuuuupdated.
Armor should work for Doomdrakes now too. Have fun throwing bulletproof nukes at people.

Blessed are those who maintain the forgotten mods of old.

No CE patch that I know of. I won't be doing any such thing myself.
I will be updating these one day, though.

I don't suppose there's a patch anywhere to make this and the drakes 'compatible' with CE?

Neither mod breaks entirely but I think the drakes seem a bit squishier than intended, so I doubt this is compatible by default

Thanks for the update, it was the stockpile issue. Stockpile didnt have drake armor and some other animal gear and after it was allowed in there and hauled it was equiped immediatly.
Thanks again and have a nice day :D

I wasn't having the same issues, so I looked through the files and found nothing was wrong there either. Therefore, one of three things is happening on your end.
1- Steam just didn't feel like giving you the right files. Happens sometimes. I'm updating the mods using the exact same files (with what should be irrelevant differences) to make the program figure it out in this case. Hopefully :Ava:
2- I never updated the files properly way back when so you didn't have the functional versions. I'm pretty sure this wasn't the case but le-whoops if it was. I keep two to three backups of every mod I edit and publish in case something goes wrong and usually release every update twice. However, the above fix should guarantee this isn't an issue.

3- You haven't put the armor in a stockpile zone and waited long enough. The AI for Animal Gear is feckin weird and refuses to wear armor that isn't in a stockpile. Known issue. I remember helping someone with this before. Additionally, even when in a stockpile and correctly configured, the AI will laze around for potentially an entire day without picking it up. Hugely annoying but you can absolutely have them running around in full armor.
If the armor still refuses to work properly please check to see if Animal Gear as a whole is working. If it is, then there's nothing I can do to help in any case as all options have been exhausted on my end.

I don't know why Steam didn't notify me of Prester's comment. I haven't been into modding lately but fixing massive issues is priority. Taking a look now. With some luck I'll have it solved and maybe even do some work on the Ni'Hal today too :claudeheart:
