MTF ARTEMIS Destroyer Mk 2

In 1 collection by Marcelo ACFM
Mars Territorial Fleet
16 items
Description
Medium sized vessel that can attack both smaller and larger opponents with focused firepower.

Derived from the experience with the prototype (now mothballed) MTF CALYPSO Class Cruiser, the Artemis was built with the intent to provide a mass production multi-role ship at a low cost that is easy to maintain; focusing on the combat capabilities rather than the more experimental ones. The Artemis houses a MK201 Gravity Accelerator Cannon in her bow to fire high-power unguided munitions and is designed for all conventional weapons to be able to shoot forwards for Close Quarters Battle (CQB). In an all aspect engagement, the main battery of turrets can shoot forwards and sideways and the defensive turrets can shoot in every direction. For ship to ship combat the vessel is equipped with 4 guided torpedo tubes which can fire a variety of munition types. The Artemis is the smallest Mars Territorial Fleet (MTF) ship-of-the-line combat vessels that internally carries a fully upgraded refinery and a large cargo container, which combined with her drone capacity makes her a good flotilla leader. When operating within the larger fleet environment, such as a pitched battle, the Artemis can act as a squadron leader. Due to its size, it can function well as a fast attack ship or to harass the enemy with hit-and-run tactics. The ship can also house various support or strike craft within its hangar.

i really like this ship, but i have a couple questions..

1- to go on survival, how do i do it with the rotors... i would have to rebuild it myself ? that would make it i=not viable, right?

2- can you make instructions on how to use the bars?

@god of fish. No rush mate, I am glad you replied. I know what you mean and that is true if we follow a WW2 classification system in which basically destroyers were escorts, smaller than frigates and cruiser hulls fell into the frigate category out of being a ship other than a capital ship. This kind of classification system is very common in sci-fi and I can cite The Expanse as an example. Now for my fleet I use the present day post cold war era system in which destroyers are ships larger than a frigate but smaller than a cruiser and form the backbone of the world's navies, even replacing cruisers in some respects. Now I do keep in this destroyer design what you mention about focus on firepower and not that heavily armored, being more offensive than defensive. Ok sorry for the drawn out explanation, bottom line is, we agree on roles, we just use a different classification system.

@Marcelo ACFM sorry for late response. destroyers are about the same size as corvettes, but are generally less armoured with more focus on manoueverability and firepower. corvettes are more balanced - think destroyer as attack, sacrificing armour, while a corvette is more of a support/one ship fleet, depending on the matchup.

@Dar Kovalord. Yeah, I will do that and also a little toolbar manual picture.

@Marcelo, maybe an idea to have scripts disabled in the blueprint and have an "on/off" button in the cockpit for each script?
