i really like this ship, but i have a couple questions..

1- to go on survival, how do i do it with the rotors... i would have to rebuild it myself ? that would make it i=not viable, right?

2- can you make instructions on how to use the bars?
Boldro 11 Jan, 2019 @ 4:53am
it only NEED MOAR DAKKA
Marcelo ACFM  [author] 11 Jan, 2019 @ 4:35am
@Boldro. Thanks! I am glad you are enjoying it.
Boldro 11 Jan, 2019 @ 3:19am
hell of a ship man, really fun to play with
Marcelo ACFM  [author] 26 Dec, 2018 @ 5:21pm
@Lobster. Oh man you said the I word :P
ColonialLobster 26 Dec, 2018 @ 4:26pm
this ship is inspiring! =D
Marcelo ACFM  [author] 9 Nov, 2018 @ 7:29am
@god of fish. No rush mate, I am glad you replied. I know what you mean and that is true if we follow a WW2 classification system in which basically destroyers were escorts, smaller than frigates and cruiser hulls fell into the frigate category out of being a ship other than a capital ship. This kind of classification system is very common in sci-fi and I can cite The Expanse as an example. Now for my fleet I use the present day post cold war era system in which destroyers are ships larger than a frigate but smaller than a cruiser and form the backbone of the world's navies, even replacing cruisers in some respects. Now I do keep in this destroyer design what you mention about focus on firepower and not that heavily armored, being more offensive than defensive. Ok sorry for the drawn out explanation, bottom line is, we agree on roles, we just use a different classification system.
fishy3402 9 Nov, 2018 @ 12:11am
@Marcelo ACFM sorry for late response. destroyers are about the same size as corvettes, but are generally less armoured with more focus on manoueverability and firepower. corvettes are more balanced - think destroyer as attack, sacrificing armour, while a corvette is more of a support/one ship fleet, depending on the matchup.
Marcelo ACFM  [author] 8 Nov, 2018 @ 8:36am
@Dar Kovalord. Yeah, I will do that and also a little toolbar manual picture.
Dar Kovalord 6 Nov, 2018 @ 9:00am
@Marcelo, maybe an idea to have scripts disabled in the blueprint and have an "on/off" button in the cockpit for each script?
Marcelo ACFM  [author] 6 Nov, 2018 @ 8:34am
@◥ Aterron ◤. I hear ya. To me there is always a balance to be found between the absolute essential scripts and the ones that are more fluff and quality of life. In the case of this ship I would say the essentials are the 2 scripts related to guided missiles and player made turrets, those are the ones I consider basic for this particular build, after that the ones like Auto LCDs, TIM and Floor Plan can be turned off if the user wants it. Im my opinion I like to present a ship with all the features an actual sci-fi spaceship would have, but in the end the subscriber can choose which ones to use, sometimes I turn some of them off while playing and only use them when needed.
Avelius 6 Nov, 2018 @ 7:49am
I would prefer a ship with only the fewest and most useful scripts, instead of having scripts everywhere causing massive performance problems.
Marcelo ACFM  [author] 6 Nov, 2018 @ 7:38am
@◥ Aterron ◤ . Yes, all of them!!!
Avelius 6 Nov, 2018 @ 7:20am
Scripts, scripts, scripts... :D
Marcelo ACFM  [author] 5 Nov, 2018 @ 9:39am
@Mikeangel. Mmmm, yeah, maybe I have to specify that is a relative thing, as a destroyer is a lower cost alternative to a cruiser, tho is kinda implied from thedescription where it says that is a derivate from the Calypso cruiser.
Mikeangel 5 Nov, 2018 @ 9:35am
probably the "mass production multi-role ship at a low cost that is easy to maintain"
Marcelo ACFM  [author] 5 Nov, 2018 @ 5:10am
@god of fish. Is not nitpicking, I am always open to commentary and suggestions on ship classification and roles. Why do you think the description fits a corvette better?
fishy3402 4 Nov, 2018 @ 9:20pm
sorry to nitpick
fishy3402 4 Nov, 2018 @ 9:20pm
this looks amazing! loving it so far. just btw tho, prolly closer to a corvette than a destroyer, based on the description alone
Marcelo ACFM  [author] 4 Nov, 2018 @ 4:03pm
@JD.Horx. Damn JD, that is fun in many levels, I guess it could be argued that the transition from Matrix to Artemis is one that many space engineers take when publishing their creations and I don't exclude myself, we go from making garbage ships to whoring our creations out in the workshop for every last thumbs up we can get :D

Thank you for the essay. I like long winded and detailed explanations of things, and I do appreciate German humour in general tho until now you are the first Berliner I met and I understand there are some nuanced variations from region to region, but in any case, your humour is always welcome here.
JD.Horx 4 Nov, 2018 @ 12:46pm
well there is a certain dance club in Berlin East, that is terribly popular among tourists and people new to the city called "Matrix". Its garbage. For garbage people.
And there is this night club with hookers called "Artemis" with "certain services" you can get there, you know.

This is that. At a certain point it has been established to make fun of those persons asking what to do in Berlin as a tourist. Just telling them to got to "Matrix und dann Artemis" is like the worst possible recommendation for a normal tourist in Berlin. Yeah the humour in Berlin is like that.

Additionally it is intended to make fun of those people "enjoying" these etablissements. Saying this sentence also usually with that kind of accent that is called in Berlin "Kanacksprech" and indicates that the person using it is originally from a place in the turkish or arabic regions. Which are told to be the most usual guests in these clubs.

What a long essay for this short sentence haha.
Marcelo ACFM  [author] 4 Nov, 2018 @ 12:14pm
@JD.Horx. Not bothered at all, I was actually curious to see what it meant, since you know google translate... Sooo what does it mean? I enjoy learning about sayings.
JD.Horx 4 Nov, 2018 @ 12:12pm
ah, its just a saying in Berlin, sorry to bother you.
Marcelo ACFM  [author] 4 Nov, 2018 @ 11:49am
@JD.Horx. As usual google translate had a hard time doing its job.
Marcelo ACFM  [author] 4 Nov, 2018 @ 11:43am
@Mikeangel. Agreed. How things are right now, is better to switch to explosive payloads.
JD.Horx 4 Nov, 2018 @ 10:39am
eh bruda erst ins Matrix und dann Artemis?
Mikeangel 4 Nov, 2018 @ 4:25am
Kinetics was always kinda unreliable. Hard to predict how they might handle specially when counting every ship had unique surfaces made even more unique by whatever angle you attack them from. Explosions just put a decent hole in the ship, always
Marcelo ACFM  [author] 4 Nov, 2018 @ 3:15am
@[WTFH] ragnar_greymane. Indeed, gone are the days of creative armor designs. At present even kinetic damage has been nerfed to the point warheads are more dangerous than collisions.
[WTFH] ragnar_greymane 3 Nov, 2018 @ 9:29pm
Back in the day, wheels in between armor made an excellent shock absorber and had zombie potential against small arms, but sadly this no longer works. Either bugs cause wheels to explode or wuzz around, or simply the damage pattern became different. Now i got that artemyevrus ships design - player made turret AC-16 and off it goes. ECM.... well more decoys on a stick.
Marcelo ACFM  [author] 3 Nov, 2018 @ 8:05pm
@Mikeangel. Sure man, maybe even a cargo trailer :P
Marcelo ACFM  [author] 3 Nov, 2018 @ 8:04pm
@Dar Kovalord. Will do!
Mikeangel 3 Nov, 2018 @ 6:36pm
We should look further into making more modules for the back merges. You have a jump ring, i made a booster one. Maybe an hangar module?
Dar Kovalord 3 Nov, 2018 @ 6:03pm
Marcelo, can you add the image for the hangar that we talked about. Cheers :)
Marcelo ACFM  [author] 3 Nov, 2018 @ 3:00pm
@artemyevrus. You never said "do better" you came in not with suggestions but with a pretentious smug attitude and pushed YOUR SHIP in as an EXAMPLE of "better" on the grounds of speed and evasion by decoy, so yeah, mentioning your ship matters to the conversation, but guess what, we tested it and let me break it to you, acceleration is not a panacea, your ship was destroyed in every engagement as soon as it got close to the enemy, and not just my "slow box with turrets" but against several other opponents. Also, whatever people create, do or don't do, is not your problem, your hands are nowhere near other players creations, so rest easy, every ship out here is a target, including yours, so stop looking down on people, specially from your imaginary tower of self importance.

And for the record. I do think your ship is very good in it's niche as an ECM corvette.
Whiplash141 3 Nov, 2018 @ 2:59pm
Stop making bad ships, stop bragging, stop leeching off of others success, and maybe people will start listening to you.
artemyevrus 3 Nov, 2018 @ 2:30pm
Damn it with my ship, it's not about him. sadly you do not understand anything. I say do better. and you say back off. If you only need to create weak targets, this is your problem. I wash my hands.
Marcelo ACFM  [author] 3 Nov, 2018 @ 2:16pm
@artemyevrus. Listen, your ship is cool, very fast and, well, very fast... but is by no means THE ULTIMATE warship, or the warship to end all warships like you are claiming it to be. It uses 2 inventions, a grav drive and a spinny decoy fork that are NOT original or that effective because guess what, the spinny decoy breaks under stress and the grav drive can be easily countered by a defensive gravity field, such features are useful yeah, but not that great, specially when one can break the other like with your ship under hi-g manouvers. So I ask you for the last time in a very polite manner, stop boasting and trash talking on other people's posts, specially when you are obviously self promoting your own workshop stuff and bringing nothing constructive to the table.
Whiplash141 3 Nov, 2018 @ 2:11pm
Lol what? What does Russia have anything to do with you adverting shitty ships?
artemyevrus 3 Nov, 2018 @ 1:41pm
@Dar Kovalord i push to advantage. Challenge. Faster, harder, without compromise ship of one lethal charge. Or may be treacherous enemy pretending to be a rag who traps. A difficult and dangerous opponent who is difficult to kill but easy to get a fatal blow from him. Not just a slow box with turrets.
artemyevrus 3 Nov, 2018 @ 1:29pm
@ Whiplash141 and you are miserable Russophobe. I`m soviet engineer and I have nothing to prove you. Now i know who you are.
Whiplash141 3 Nov, 2018 @ 11:24am
Spinny decoys = SUPER COMPLEX lol
Dar Kovalord 3 Nov, 2018 @ 11:23am
@artemyevrus.... what is it that you suggest?
Whiplash141 3 Nov, 2018 @ 11:22am
@artemyevrus: "do what you can and do not scold that you do not understand"
I understand that your ships are trash and you feel the need to advertise on other creations that are actually interesting. It is pathetic. Stop.

"If you are ready to accept my advice I am ready to point the way"
*Intense laughter*
You are so full of yourself man...
artemyevrus 3 Nov, 2018 @ 11:02am
Do not misunderstand me. You got a nice ship with a primitive functionality. Congratulations on the top and I wish to make really dangerous ships. If you are ready to accept my advice I am ready to point the way
artemyevrus 3 Nov, 2018 @ 10:58am
@Whiplash141 do what you can and do not scold that you do not understand. I don't call shit your scripts. My ships do without them.
Marcelo ACFM  [author] 3 Nov, 2018 @ 10:07am
@artemyevrus. Is nice that you are proud of your creations and I always enjoy a constructive discussion, but keep in mind that there are many types of warships and also that anyone can call their creations what they want in the workshop, including all the non survival functional ships from Star Wars, Trek and the like. Your ship is a very good corvette and the ECM system works very well at the max range of enemy turrets, as well as doing strafing runs.
Whiplash141 3 Nov, 2018 @ 10:02am
@artemyevrus: Go peddle your shit ships elsewhere. Thanks <3
Marcelo ACFM  [author] 3 Nov, 2018 @ 9:40am
@Stollie. Space and moons only.
Soquinn 3 Nov, 2018 @ 9:26am
This ship is not specifically meant to be used in a slugging match between ships, as your seems to be. Yes, being able to survive a slugging match does make your ship a better ship, but this type of ship seems to me to be more of a ship to stop your enemy before they can return fire.
artemyevrus 3 Nov, 2018 @ 8:44am
Yes? "The Killer" is my technology. I laugh every time someone calls his ship Warship. Today, a warship must have advanced defense and attack systems, as well as the dynamics of an insane flea. Otherwise it is not a warship, but just a beautiful target.
