Half Research Penalty

Description
This mod works with all Stellaris versions newer than 2.1
The Launcher may say that your version is not supported but this most likely is wrong.
I just got tired to reupload all my mods with changed "supported_version" numbers after every patch.

Cuts that nasty research penalty in half!

My other mods:
Want to remove the penalty on council agendas? Try this:
No Council Agenda Penalty

No need to care about district numbers:
No District Research Penalty

You can remove the whole research penalty here:
No Research Penalties

Don't want to bother about tradition costs anymore?
No Tradition Penalties

You can scale the research speed with your empire size:
Overall Research Improve

Does this Mod apply to AI?
As far as I know: Yes

Mod compatibility?
With all mods that don't alter this line:

EMPIRE_SIZE_TECH_COST_PENALTY

bro it still works but is marked as outdated bc i dont play stellaris anymore -> only check for updates once in a while

I guess I mean, the AI would be more efficient at choosing its research path. And with no difference in research time penalty between player & AI, then theoretically the AI would do better because it's more efficient. Assuming the AI goes through the process of researching tech in order to upgrade, etc. (which I have no idea if it does). Anyway, thanks for the great mod!

To be honest: I have no real clue about that. I assume that it changes the AI, because it alters the general formula for the research penalty.
But AI shouldnt outpace you because it gets the same penalty that you get.

Oh one other question: Does this change also effect the AI research? (Not sure if the AI does actually DO research). So, like, the AI could start to outpace me in some way?

@numerfolt Thanks, I added it in my new 2.2 game (very early) after having researched a bunch, and I can see the immediate reduction. So just confirming, looking good for a mid-game sub. Thanks for putting this together!

Hello, you can enable and disable it on the fly and as you like :)
It just tweaks the calculation formula whenever you start the game.

Hi there, interested in this mod, but wondering if it's compatible with an existing savegame? Or do you need to start a new save? (Maybe I missed a note on this) Thanks for your work!
