Your explanations are detailed and sophisticated and show that you care.
Note: While I don't think it needs to be said, I won't remove all of them. There already exists a different mod for that.
This does have support for RimWorld 1.0. However, I learned that it will only work if you have the latest (2551) revision of 1.0, which was only released a few days ago. Steam users will be fine. But if you get a red error, check the "Important Note on Compatibility with RimWorld 1.0" section above. You may want or need to use this, instead: Less Default Hair [Legacy version for 0.9 and 1.0]
BTW: RimWorld 1.0 users might appreciate how I added 14 hairstyles from RimWorld 1.1. See the description.
I m wondering now if this mod will still work in 1.1? or if not do you plan to update it?
It's always good practice to keep a backup of a good save if you plan to change your mods in any way.
That said, I can't imagine that this simple mod would negatively impact an existing save. All it does is use safe Xpath patches to change the <hairTags> of most vanilla hair. And most of these are changed from some combination of Urban, Rural, Punk and Tribal categories to a non-existent "IgnoreMe" category. This has the game ignore the hair as a choice since this fake category does not apply to any pawns.
Do note: If you apply it to an existing save, this mod will not remove or replace their hair if they already had ugly hair that this mod forbids.
Just to be safe: I just loaded a save after adding Less Default Hair, despite not originally having this mod. The error log did not show any errors. And my colonists still have their hair.
