Description
Makes all the Elf factions have more loreful names. Also edits the names of some starting agents who had absurd names.

I enjoy all the Elf factions in Warhammer very much, with Wood Elves my favorite, so it has always been a sore point for me that their names in-game barely resemble what they're like in the books! This mod remedies that.

Dodan is gone. You will never see that name again. I was so tired of that name. HE'S GONE. Along with Otrolio, Circo and Varcio, and all the other random Elizabethan circus names! Many of the Wood Elves now have names taken directly from their TT army books, and then they have many mythic Celtic/Welsh inspired names, in line with their culture and existing name variations.

Wood Elves had a bizarre data table configuration, so males, females and tree folk all share the same name pool, nothing I can do about it.

High Elves were better off than Wood Elves, but they got a new name pool too and several agents edited. Joke names like Alarielle's starting Handmaiden, Josepharilus Dalterion (Joey Dalton is a CA employee) as well as names that scream nonsense like Grimziyal, all have been roundly thrown out in favor of more immersive names from the army books, End Times supplements (Valanar & Varandi, WOOH!) and novels like Defenders of Ulthuan.

Dark Elves got the full meal deal, name pool, agents and starting turn one lords from neighboring provinces got edited. Alyssa has been removed. Never forgot that name line-up, Caladrielle, Druthira, Ravena AND THEN IT'S ALYSSA THE DREADLORD OF CLAR KAROND, get out of here! Eville-lyn is gone as well, a little too on the nose that one, even for Dark Elves. The Druchii now hopefully have more suitably malicious and sibilant names across the board, taken from army books, the Malus Darkblade novels and the Doom of the Elves omnibus.

HE/DE got about 60 new names, WE around 40. The available lords to you will seemingly always have the same name from turn 1, and there will be repeats despite the variety I've put in (damn you Edrael).

It is the exact same mod as the main Sea Helm mod, put it in your data folder and it will overwrite the version you presently have, but nothing will change except for Aislinn now spawning with his name intact.

Much thanks to Mixu whose Marienburg mod got me started on this and for making this thing more compatible with his Legendary Lords mod with the Mod Configuration Tool, and Larian, from WH1, whose Wood Elf name mod also was a launching off point for me. HUGE THANKS ALSO TO GUVENOREN who single handedly fixed the Dark Elf Names of Power issue, so now you can see the Names of Power displayed alongside the new names!

This mod no longer works. tested everything, deactivated mods and fiddled extensively with load order. Nothing. Also, unlike what the description says, it definitely interferes with / erases the names of custom characters from mods like Mixu's Legendary Lords packs.

Hello! I’m expanding the name pool for all factions in WH3 using a ml tool to generate new names, but I’m struggling to get some elf names to “fit”.

Could I use your names in this mod as part of my new name creation tool? I’d love to give you credit for your great work here.

That is a potential solution, yes. Also you might be able to rename them yourself, I'm not sure with modded lords but that's always been a thing with generic lords. Glad you like the names.

This mod conflicted with Mixu and Parte lords, a shame really, some of their lords get their name blanked. The solution, I assumed, is to load a game with this mod deactivated, save, then activate the mod and go from there? A little hassle, but it's worthy, there's some really cool names, Lhunara is so good that I actually suggested that name for my cousin's cat

That's fine. Someone else can fix how other mod's conflict with this one. I'm quite over it when it comes to making this thing compatible with every single elf lord mod out there.

This mod conflicts with the Sceolan mod by Shawnmuscles. It causes Sceolan to show up with no name no matter where in the mod order it's placed.

I want to say I changed his faction group number, (to 777, the number that I have for all High Elf factions partaking in the new name pool), I don't recall the table off my head as that change was some time ago.
