Take care, bud.
Sorry to hear that. I don't play WH2 anymore.
Please do. You've taken a huge load off my shoulders doing so. One less mod for me to carry over.
Could I use your names in this mod as part of my new name creation tool? I’d love to give you credit for your great work here.
That is a potential solution, yes. Also you might be able to rename them yourself, I'm not sure with modded lords but that's always been a thing with generic lords. Glad you like the names.
That's fine. Someone else can fix how other mod's conflict with this one. I'm quite over it when it comes to making this thing compatible with every single elf lord mod out there.
I want to say I changed his faction group number, (to 777, the number that I have for all High Elf factions partaking in the new name pool), I don't recall the table off my head as that change was some time ago.
I can't control the frequency, sorry. Sometimes you get stuff like that.
Well lads I tried doing it the clean way. Now I gotta do it the dirty way. In the mod description is a link to the “sub-mod” for Aislinn, it's not really a sub-mod, it's Cataph's whole Sea Helm mod but with one table entry changed so he spawns with his name filled out.
It has the exact same name as the original mod, so it will still be linked to the same mod cover in your mod manager. As this game's life-cycle is at an end, I don't anticipate Cataph updating it again, meaning the change will stick.
OH NO THAT SUCKS. Please be more specific in the future, 'it broke lol' tells me nothing. lol
ANYWAY. I rolled back the changes. The mod will not have Aislinn's name for the foreseeable future. For some reason it wasn't showing up even after I added and changed all his table categories, alas.
I added the tables I think are necessary for the Sea Patrol. I hope it works, I'm a little busy to check in-game right now.
This mod has been updated to handle Mixu's Elf lords. No sub-mod necessary! Please let me know what other mods you guys play with that add Elf characters and I'll add them to the mix.
I have not tried asking for help. What's happening is that all the modded lords have their faction id tied to the vanilla id groups for WE/DE/HE, whereas this mod has entirely new faction ids for the elf factions to support the new pool of names.
If you were familiar with pack files and tables, you could go into these legendary lord mods and alter the faction ids (I think I made 666 for DE, 777 for HE, 888 for WE) and that would solve your problem.
All that being said, I may just release a sub-mod in the near future that does this. I'm going to be doing an Imrik mod soon so might as well go out with an Elven bang.
Sorry friend, I don't know how to do that. I've never known how to create compatibility mods with this kind of thing, that was always the domain of more knowledgable modders.
What a bizarre incident. Sorry to hear that. No, I haven't heard of that. I don't know what might cause that. This mod could have made them nameless but it wouldn't have made you spawn in open sea.
I declared war in turn 60 on Lokhir and initiated naval battle with two black arks and regular Lord reinforcements, and.. I appeared into a water battlefield. like all my units underwater. no sign of enemy. no black arks. nothing but the sea. nowhere to move - movement mouse with red cross on it.
I will go forward with autoresolve or with land battles only (unless those are bugged too). Did you ever enconter or hear about anything like that?
Welcome dude!
@Sol invictus
Sure thing!
Sorry man, I have no idea where to begin with the new MCT, I didn't even mess with the old one when it came to compatibility, that had to do with levels of table editing or whatever that was way above my cave man understanding of modding.
Alright well I just added those title tables just now. I think you may need a new campaign for them to display properly, as one of my units who earned that title prior to my mod update did not have his title. HOPEFULLY future Mistwalker titles will display properly.
Cheers :)
On a different note, I ran into another one... while playing as Eltharion and getting the lvl 15 dilemma rewards (a trait and a last name), the last name doesn't get added to the characters.
For example:
Picking "the Shadow" for a lord or hero is supposed to rename them to "X the Shadow", where X is their original name. Should happen for both LL, lords and heroes.
The problem is that the lords/heroes that had that title lost it and new ones that gain it don't update their name.
I've reverted all the High Elf quest battle names back to their original name group so hopefully they'll display, I can't test it from the menu since the game will always load up a quest battle no problem with names from there, it can only be properly tested if the quest battle is performed from the campaign itself.
@Dyso
Thanks! Glad you dig it man! Well to start with I would download RPFM, it's a pack file manager that enables you view the very tables you need to change for names to start with. From there I would just view my mod, or any name changing mod really, and see how the files and folders function, there are very few parts to a mod like this so understanding should come readily.
If you need any further assistance, send me a friend request and I can walk you through with screenshots.
Love your mod. Hate having duplicate and uninspired or silly names in my campaigns as I feel it takes away from the immersion a bit hehe. I was wondering if it was a simple matter to expand the more immersive & loreful names to all other races? I don't want you to do it for me but if it is a straightforward matter to mod it myself then could you tell me what to do, or where to look to learn to do it?
Thanks again!
It absolutely can effect that. I'll give those things a look. I know exactly what tables to change for those instances. I ran into an issue myself today, doing Grom's final siege of Tor Yvresse, Eltharion didn't have a name! But I can't find a table for that particular battle so that might be borked indefinitely.
I played these battles on previous campaigns and they didn't have any issues. This campaign I've re-enabled this mod. Could it be an issue caused by it?
That has not been an issue for some time. I was able to run this mod and do customs even before this most recent update.
@Wulfrik the Wanderer
It is done!
@Altan
Are you saying your quest lords have Wood Elf names or that they have no names? At any rate, I've updated the mod and I've added the table for dragon quest names to the mod. It probably won't have the mod names, but it shouldn't have blank names either.
