Heartfire is the only real mod that puts them to practical use, and that is only one that we can recruit to take care of our homes, but there is just so many out there.
I use the my home is your home mod, but still most homes are to small to do really do anything with them, or to large to bother with as a player, cause im not interested in running 5 mins from spot to spot just for crafting.
I personally never under stood why most mod makers always seem to put these things far away from each other, furnace, forge, table , grindstone and the enchanting table, when they all play a vital role to make the best gear. and half the mods dont even bother with adding 1 part or another.
