Overview

The new satellite mk-i unit recently launched to the market by atom corp. offers a simple way to increase radio coverage, early warning systems and terrain survey. with its all-in-one patented system of f ire and forget, you dont have to go through the hazard of those complicated vectors and velocities for getting that sat. where you want, we did all the calculations for you, so you just push a single button and the rocket will set itself about 46kms above ground. ready to serve you .

Important information

although, launching a satellite like this unit is as simple as pushing a button, a few things should be taken in consideration before. for example the burn time and the brake time, 2 critical aspects to set it just where we want.
in the table below we offer you the calibration times for each most visited planets in space engineers universe with a launch at sea level.

Planet | Burn time | Brake Time
Earth 1g | 22 seconds | 1 second
Mars 0.9g | 20 seconds | 15 seconds
Alien 1.2g | 23 seconds | 32 seconds

Setting these calibration parameters is as simple as moving the sliders to the desired values of each correspondent component located in the control panel menu.

Also its important to add some uranium to all 6 reactors and at least 1 canvas per parachute hatch (12 in total)
A speed limit remover mod is required for ship's proper function

After launch, the booster module will stabilize a vector and a velocity to reach the border with space, once its done, the module will detach itself from the rest of the ship and initiate a reentry procedure to land near the launchsite, it is higlhly advisable to supply this stage with enough canvas to equip all its 12 parachute hatches, and ensure a safe return.

the booster module is the main engine of the ship, it will offer enough power to reach space and stabilize the ascention, once this is done, the module will detach itself and return to the planet surfce where you can reuse or recycle it.

This can be used in vanilla, the timing's on the earth like planet are for 46km up set the burn time for 6 mins and 6 seconds and it will deliver it 46.08km up, its worth noting the orientation is set that the laser is at the top, as in your not meant to connect to the planet via laser, your meant to connect via your space station via laser comms, and use the built in 50km range antenna to connect to the base below, set the brake time for 1 second for earth like, this required much trial and error to find as alas all the timings in comments didnt cut it for latest v.

However it is possible to change this, you just have to go on a ship to join your sat once its up there, manually take control via the remote controller and flip it 180 and pointing at the ground base, then you can use laser to connect to ground base and antenna to connect to space base as I have done, however the recover mode prob wont work when flipped so if you wish to use it you'll have to manually flip it back again, and it'll be difficult to manually flip it perfectly 180, however the design doesnt let you load canopies into 2 of the 12 parachutes in latest build, and not tested this anyhow.

Yeah, looking at the scripts, they're throwing errors. I think the scripting system has changed since this was created.

Isy's Solar Alignment has an updated version. Am I to assume that the Orbit one is O.I.S.'s Orbital Flight Computer? Is there anything I need to change in the script if I update that?

One small problem with this is that the satellite itself obstructs line of sight an earth-based ground station... it'll launch fine, yeah. But it won't be able to connect to ground.

Is there a chance you could assist in setting up just the satellite, and associated deployment code, as a bp? I think this would be perfect for a "printable" comms relay "buoy." Like have a comms ship fly from point to point printing the satellite and then deploy, push a button and it expands and tracks solar.

Only the Burn-Time was 'a little' to long.
The Satellite anded up at 80km distance from launch

Keeps crashing into my base, seems not to be working. I have everything setup, was there a update that changed something? I'm on mars
