MVG Patrol Ship

Описание
MisadventuresVG is proud to present... The Patrol Ship Mod

This mod has been developed to add a new class of ship to the early part of the game. The Patrol Ship or Patroller as it is called ingame is a cheap and cost effect gunship intended for mass production and rapid deployment. These ships are primary design as anti-pirating vessels used a first and line of defence when needed but can be deployed into battle groups for larger scale operations. They come with 1 weapon slot, 1 point defence and 2 utility slots with 1 aux slot and cost 1 ship slot. They enjoy greater speed and agility than a corvette but suffer from have very little protection.

This mod has been developed to be small, simple able to sit ideally along side other similar mods without interference or patches being required.

Could you add a patrol craft that equips only 1 hanagr and 1 point defence.
you would probably want to make them equip a unike fighter wing to stop the from carrying modded superpowered fighters

I'd be no stranger than having Carriers from another mod and using Carrier and Supercarrier parts. That said to lean on real world classes Cutteris pretty common.

And yeah not all shipsets play well with mods that add new ship classes, for example the Macross mod ship classes and Gundam ships don't get along.

Gunship is used repeatedly as a ship section name, hence I didn't call it that, it would cause confusion between what was the intended purpose of a ship and the class of the ship.

It's interesting that it is working for one shipset and not the other... hmmmmmmm.

Not compatible with UNSC ships, also as a side thought it'd probably make more sense to call the ship class Gunship rather than Patroller.

The idea of the patroller is to have something that you can build very quickly early game to just dissuade pirates from spamming your systems. I envision you deploying them in a system to slow down portential attackers, not necessary stopping them. That is definitely what the corvettes as for. Unfortunately in the early game you have virtually no real ship options, every costs the same and takes 2 months to build regardless of fitting.

The Patrol Ship has need been amended to cost only 0.5 fleet slots and has had its evasion bonus reduced from 75% to 65% in an attempt to make its more desirable for use while not making it overpowered.

But in terms of pirate control the corvettes are still the better proposition as they provide 2x protection at lower than 2x cost?

Mostly just patrolling your trade routes, I'd imagine.
