"Taiga" - Explorer rover (Vanilla, scripts)

Description
Taiga is a very compact rover solution for planet exploration, spying and surveyor purposes. Definitely a more than meets the eye kind of rover!
Fully vanilla not counting scripts (works without) orbit to terrain drone combo comprising of the explorer rover "Taiga", and its lander/uplink station "koda".

UPDATE #1 Taiga is now MART enabled! If you have issues with it please let me know asap. Mart On/OFF is on the second tab as last prog block.

Update #2 Lander is now MORE automated! Rover detachment no longer takes a whole tab, but is now a single timer. Simpler than ever! Lander is now appropriately the default with descent view, and will automatically shift to Rover main upon rover deployment. On the first tab since camera controls are now with MART, rotor controls have been replaced with High and Low modes for suspension in case you need to crawl or be more stable with a lower CG, like a steep hill.

Taiga is complext, but extremely stable and robust explorer tool built around the Driver Assistance Script, which is truly amazing, absolute monster of a script! Please go read its full features (linked as req item)
Features most of DAS-script's features such as but not limited to:
-Automatic orientation to ground when jumping
-Automatic traction control subsystem
-Cornering assist (automatic wheel grip/turn radius adjust w/gyro assist)
-Impact dampening / Soft landing system via atmothrust
-self-righting if flipped
-Lighting aids
And some hardware side of mine:
-Camera Boom for tilting, panning and assistive lighting,
-Driving camera for zipping across the terrain
-Ultracompact frame with solar panel and battery (infinite runtime!)
-Debris-less self destruction with warning sounds/lights
-2 Ore detectors
-Emergency parachutes
-Enemy detection
All this in a survival ready 5m x 3m frame!

Read more on DAS to unlock other cool stuff like speedboost by key "c"

Koda is the lander module, and its primary purpose is to cushion the landing and establish an uplink to space and back.
Also uses DAS to orient to planet,
-Debris-less self destruction protocol, same as Taiga
-Laser Antenna/Regular antenna (for redundancy)
-Self sustaining via solar panel
-Panning camera for location scouting
-Descent camera for location scouting

"Simple" to use!
Stage 1) LAUNCHING
First you need to reach orbit (around 40km altitude) and create a GPS point. A future satellite will be included to fill the relay task but for now the mothership will have to do this by itself.
To launch, use the Aim camera and aim where you roughly want the drone to land, hit "LAUNCH TAIGA" timer and rest is automated until touchdown. You can take control at this point if you wish, but you're limited to only observing through onboard cameras. Just sit back and wait.

Stage 2) SETUP
Take control of TAIGA, open second tab of commands and work your way from left to right (you will disconnect the link when the grids separate, you will need to retake control. At the odd looking "wheels" command, spam the hotkey to raise the ground clearance to maximum. You can now disengage parking brake and drive off the ramp and explore!
Tab 1 is for normal ops
Tab 2 is for setup
Tab 3 is for emergencies

Stage 3) HAVE FUN!!!

Known issues:
-Due to merge blocks grid names reset... Drones will show as small ship xxxx in the menu :c
-To blow up Koda you need to open the terminal remotely because by default it relays control over to Taiga.
-Sometimes with MART on, the rover accidentally flips itself... If you find yourself experiencing this, disable Mart for high speed rover action
-Solar panels are unable to provide enough power to antennas to enable any reasonable range... Looking to rectify this somehow.

Always open to feedback, what could be done better, what sucks? Something missing that you'd like to see implemented? Let me know! I'm always learning and this is my first foray into remote controlled vehicles so mistakes are sure to be present!

@Warrel hey, you and I are obviously in the same boat; I only
started playing Space Engineers a few weeks ago so I'm new
to it too.

* within sane reasoning, sorry for those we promised a spider rover to, this isn't it folks!

Welcome to the Space Engineers community Warrel!
On the right side of the workshop page you can see a list of "required items", where people put mods or scripts used in their creations. You don't need to download each script separately as those are stored in the blueprint programmable blocks as is the case here. MART is listed there ;)

But to answer the question, MART, is an abbreviation for Mouse Aimed Rotor Turret, a script written by Whiplash which does what it says. In the case of this build the script controls the camera boom meaning that you can simply turn the mouse and the camera points that way just like in a typical FPS mode instead of having to hassle with keybinds for each rotor separately!

What is MART?
Yes this is a serious question. I'm relatively new in the space engineers workshop. I even googled it and found about 30 possibility's of wich several could fit.

Managed to land good. Ran around for about an half hour. Doing good. Battery life is what it is, i had left and a few in game days past, only to have my lander out of juice when I got back. Doing some management with it, I can delay that drain. As we know the antenna's take quite a bit of juice. I Did have access from the probe up in orbit, just no relay through the lander. Definately a launch and explore before juice runs out. Fun at night as well. I'm wondering how the new small grid batteries coming in the next update will do.
I put override increase/decrease speed limit on the first toolbar in the empty spots, found needing to increase and decrease as terrain needs, as I turned the DAS off once I was driving the lander. Once it moved super erractic and exploded.

ok. It has worked before, other times It just rolls, kind of weird..
