@Warrel hey, you and I are obviously in the same boat; I only
started playing Space Engineers a few weeks ago so I'm new
to it too.

Thank you.

Welcome to the Space Engineers community Warrel!
On the right side of the workshop page you can see a list of "required items", where people put mods or scripts used in their creations. You don't need to download each script separately as those are stored in the blueprint programmable blocks as is the case here. MART is listed there ;)

But to answer the question, MART, is an abbreviation for Mouse Aimed Rotor Turret, a script written by Whiplash which does what it says. In the case of this build the script controls the camera boom meaning that you can simply turn the mouse and the camera points that way just like in a typical FPS mode instead of having to hassle with keybinds for each rotor separately!

What is MART?
Yes this is a serious question. I'm relatively new in the space engineers workshop. I even googled it and found about 30 possibility's of wich several could fit.

Managed to land good. Ran around for about an half hour. Doing good. Battery life is what it is, i had left and a few in game days past, only to have my lander out of juice when I got back. Doing some management with it, I can delay that drain. As we know the antenna's take quite a bit of juice. I Did have access from the probe up in orbit, just no relay through the lander. Definately a launch and explore before juice runs out. Fun at night as well. I'm wondering how the new small grid batteries coming in the next update will do.
I put override increase/decrease speed limit on the first toolbar in the empty spots, found needing to increase and decrease as terrain needs, as I turned the DAS off once I was driving the lander. Once it moved super erractic and exploded.

ok. It has worked before, other times It just rolls, kind of weird..

The DAS script should enable handbrake automatically whenever nobody is present in the cockpit/remote control, meaning it SHOULD kick in as the rover detaches and becomes its own entity. I'll see if I can force a handbrake to it.

Another suggestion after playing...when the lander lands on a hill, I detach the rover, brakes are off before I can control it...it rolls down the hill and eventually blows up..:steamfacepalm: Are you able to have brakes on? or did you have them release upon timing block to help get the rover off the lander?
Thanks

Perhaps it fails to load the terrain and glitches into a mountain? I've tried running it in all the planets (moon not included) in both survival and creative in different savegames and on my end it works as intended. I'm afraid I can't help you with that. Maybe it gets shot even? 800m is usual range for weapon emplacements. Glad to hear you're enjoying the rover :)

Right on, of course I will give full credit, just have to figure out where to put it at.
Thanks, can't wait to see the relay probe combo. My son and I enjoy driving the rover around after we got it to land with the parachutes. Just recently had an issue trying to land it 45km away, but after parachute deploy and it slowed down it vanishes around 900 meters from the surface, odd, I even tried with trash off. It is my server, so even looking in the entity list its just not there..

Of course you can, but if you're going to upload to workshop don't forget to give full credit.
I'll have a relay sat/probe combo done in a short while. Just gotta iron out some wrinkles before I feel comfy uploading it

Hi, I was wondering if you mind I used this with my lander, it's a prospecting ship and a little rover would be fantastic to deploy before landing.

Hey you mentioned eventually a relay satellite...here is one of my navbeacons. https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1627879636

Glad I could help. It's an awesome build. Can't wait to see more!
OctoBooze  [author] 15 Feb, 2019 @ 3:44am
Thank you for bringing that up Lee! Must've missed refilling the chutes at one point during the build process.
As for the fire, there isn't anything on my end... Thrusters only fire for a minute after which the descent vehicle flips and switches modes into descent, everything is fine on that regard. If it keeps reoccurring let me know. Updated version with filled parachutes and MART coming real soon :)

Hi,
toying with this, and it is truly awesome.
Having an issue with Mars. Seems either not enough parachutes or thrusters. I have yet to go down with it but I swear i saw something on fire...i noticed there is no parachutes in the parachute blocks...?

Sweet!
