The Scottish (Vanilla)

Description
This mod adds the Scottish Civilisation to Civ V (Vanilla)

Celebrate Scotland and Scottish Culture with this addition of the Scottish Civilisation.

Lead the Scots to glory as Robert the Bruce, making full use of their unique trait 'From Saving, Comes Having' with which you save gold on maintenance and tile purchases.

Build unique buildings:
-The Tower House, increasing culture in place of the Castle, and;
-The Whisky Distillery, increasing culture and, of course, happiness in place of the Opera House.

City names and Civilopedia entries included too, so...

Whit ye waitin fur? Get it done!

Note you can get the Gods and Kings version here.

itd be cool if u could split enemy units in half if ur next to a river or something, so instead of having 1 ful health warrior units, u have 2, but their max health is halved

I can't get it to work! When I set up the game, I can't find the Scottish Civ! How can I fix this?

Also, the Highlander would have "first strike" capacity as that was another aspect of the Highland Charge.

Re: Highlanders. A Highlander unit could be more resistant to swordsmen because of the Highland Charge shock tactic. Later, to musketmen (gunpowder) units due to shock effect and because they had sense enough to duck! No, really! They'd flop (or crouch) when fired opon "en volley" then get up and charge, obscured by smoke, yelling their heads off, while the opposition reloaded! This became somewhat less effective with the advent of the ringed bayonet and completely obsolete with repeating rifles. (Although later in history, the South, in the American Civil War, used the "Rebel Yell" to great effect during charges.) Also, truely disciplined troops (read trained and/or experienced ) might be less effected when confronted by shock tactics. Terrain (i.e. downhill) also played a major effect. So, perhaps your XML might take all these into account, TopCat84?

Robert the Bruce is perfect as the leader and a very aprepos. William Wallace was a much more tragic figure.

I like the the idea of a Highlander unit (with a hilted broadsword and a targe?).

Can we call the "English" the Sassenach? :p

No, Craig, the appreciation for the "water of life" (whisky/whiskey) is Gaelic, not just Irish.
