Cyberware Mods

Description
My experimental mods for cyberware:

Everything reduced to even essence costs to avoid rounding issues.

Basic datajack reduced to 0 essence.
Anything that goes in the datajack slot seems to quilify as a datajack for use of decks, etc.
So can add 'enchanced' datajacks in the form of the encephalon, vehicle control rig, and tactical computer.

Tried to offer more interesting choices of trade offs that stock cyberwear system. Also avoid easy access to quickness (the god stat).

Datajacks:
Stock datajack file reduced to 0 essence
Encephalon: 1 essence, +1 intelligence +1 decking
Vehicle Control rig: 1 essence, +1 drone control, +1 drone combat
Tactical Computer: 2 essence, +1 quickness, +1 ranged combat

Eyes:
Basic eyes: 1 essence, +5 to hit
Alpha eyes: 1 essence, +10 to hit

Body:
Boosted Reflexes: 1 essence, +1 dodge
Wired Reflexes: 2 essence, +1 dodge, wired reflexes dodge

Dermal plating: 1 essence, +1 armor, +5 HP
Dermal plating 2: 1 essence, +2 armor, +5 HP

Bone lacing: 2 essence +1 armor, +1 strength, +5 HP
Bone lacing 2: 2 essence +1 armor, +1 strength, +10 HP

Arms:
Arm: 1 essence, +1 strength
Arm 2: 1 essence, +1 strength, +5 HP

legs:
Leg: 1 essence, +1 movement
leg 2: 1 essence, +1 movement, +5 HP

Well in the book for BONE LACING the cost is :
Plastic +1 body essence cost 0.5
Aluminium +1 body, +1 impact essence cost 1.15
Titanium + 2 body, + 1 impact, + 1 ballistic essence cost 2..25

But is for the body not just for one leg

I always picked bone lacing back in the days ... reminded me of Wolverine ;)

I don't have the books available atm, but I seem to remember that the essence cost was for the pair of arms or pair of legs. I am nearly certain of the pair of legs though, since it would seem to throw the character's ballance off if only one was worn.
Also, iirc, bonelacing was a requirement for the cyberlegs/arms or else the stress of use would literally rip the limbs from the torso.

Essence cost is too high (at least compared to the p&p system). There's a reason for having fractional costs of essence -- it's not a bug, it's intentional and, really, a requirement because how of the magic stats works.

I didn't realize that the rounding was a glitch. Memory is a bit foggy, but I thought in the pen and paper version there was no such thing as a fraction of a point of essence; you either have the whole point or you don't have the point at all.

To be somewhat fair, the Burned-Out Mage available via the Nephilim Network has 6 essence/magic and he has a datajack installed, so there may be a bit of play the designers considered in terms of the cost to a mage getting a datajack. Or it could be an oversight. Either way, I like the direction this mod takes things.

Ok, for those of you wanting an editor free experience, have gotten the modded version of DMS up. You can just download it and play.

The cyberware items are in ???\Shadowrun Returns\Shadowrun_Data\StreamingAssets\ContentPacks\seattle\data\items

Looks for things with names like datajack.item.bytes and obvious cyberarm 2.item.bytes

You can edit .bytes files with gibbed's editor, or just make (item name).item.txt files in text format. Packs that have been 'cooked' can't accept dependencies on .txt files, so if you want to use your modded content in DMS, you'd need to get your files into .bytes format.

how do you modify the cyberware? I'm trying to do a story that requires me to do that.

Sigh, my modified version of DMS is finally ready to go and I'm hit with the Steam bug where you can't publish anything. Will keep trying.
