C'mon, 10 months since I last uploaded a submission to the workshop and I come back with .... a remaster? Oh well, it happens. I started a full time uni undergraduate back in September and ever since I have not really found time to work on weapon skins. Anyways, why did I upload a remastered version of an oxidized skin after almost 2 years? I have shown people my work and if there was one that people really seemed to like it was the Sawed-Off. However, since it was the first skin from which the oxide blaze series derived it was not in line with the general looks of the series. It was more saturated, the paint was too 'perfect' and the wood was rather mediocre. Also the paint on the backside of the weapon was somewhat odd to say the least.

So, because I believe it is a pretty good submission and people tell me it looks really awesome I decided to remaster it to fit the general theme of the oxide blaze series. Working on this after a good 10 months of not working on skins gave me a good feeling and I might soon start slowly working on new skins if I find the time to do so.


Well, since it is a remaster it was quite a simple work progress. I made sure the saturation, paint, and grunge were in line with my oxide blaze series. I lowered the saturation, made the paint more grungy, and overall added more wear and tear to the original rusted look. I also used a better wood material which I also used on my AK-47 | Timeless since I love it so so much. There are 2 variants when it comes to wood, this one has a rather desaturated look while the other one (which I will upload tomorrow) is more in line with the original colour tone of the original sawed-off. I personally am not 100% sure which one I like both because I think both change the look and overall feel of the weapon skin.

Lastly, I made some changes to the backside of the gun. The original text and symbols were really out of place and therefore I reworked it something which makes more sense. The quote "Yes, my friends" is a line which is used by the separists (iirc) and instead of a star I drew the terrorist logo on it. In general this makes more sense and looks a whole lot better.


The wear progress only changed in terms of the maximum wear. Instead of the maximum being 0.60 I upped it to 0.7 to allow for really grungy and scratched battle-scarred items to be unboxed.


Once again, it's been a while but it feels good to finally upload something to the workshop again. I like to mention that I am incredibly grateful for the position that I am in with the Glock-18 Oxide Blaze to be added in the Danger Zone case back in December. It makes me really happy reading all the comments saying that people like my skin. I hope that you all like this remaster!
