Colour Tweaks [Deader than disco, use at your own risk]

Description
Mod ID: 1709129118

This mod currently requires first position in load order to work as it directly adjusts color definitons.

The point of this mod is to make relatively modest colour adjustments to players and creatures. Creature colours have been adjusted so that the yellows, greens, and oranges (21-27) are more differentiated from each other and warmer toned, light blue (28) little less saturated, and light and dark red (19 & 20) looking less pink.

Player colors are adjusted by making the brown eye coloration darker, blues and greens more natural, red and yellow eye colors less pure while still keeping them strong colors, introducing a red hair color choice, and symmetrizing some minor discrepancies between male and female skin colors.

Old dino color values have been saved in new entries so that people playing with Dino Colourizer or console commands may accesss them here. Note: The info here is wrong a bit, so grain of salt the values in here until I can correct it. Keep playing with it until you find the old color you like.

Updated the description of the mod to clarify that it's abandoned. I didn't update sooner as I honestly thought I would never even touch the game again, let alone making new mods for it and put myself back on the radar.

It has been almost 4 years, have you still not been able to correct it?

Is this compatible, with Jack and Jill? I'd love to use both together :)

@2Cool4u first load this mod in first load, open the map (choose the color if is hair of the skin), close the map, put the other mod first and this mod in second (for me works)

Really the only problem is I have my textures, theyre edited, I just dont know how to insert them back into the game. From what I gather I have to edit the materials to point to my new mod, but I dont know how to instance said materials in one folder, rather than editing the files directly.

Would you mind if I added you so we could discuss not in steam workshop messages?

Note that UV Map information comes from the model, not any particular texture file. Think of it like figuring out how to sew fur (the texture files) onto a plastic teddy bear.

There's more to it but those are the big 3 things when it comes to dino and character textures. ARK also has colorization maps which are obviously unique to ARK, and are documented here: https://sites.google.com/a/studiowildcard.com/ark-dev-kit-documentation/assets/colorization

If you wanna mess with textures, then you would be dealing with Materials and all related concepts - diffuse maps (color map, this is what we typically think of as a "texture file"), UV mapping (how textures wrap around models), normal maps (gives the engine lighting info, this is how high resolution details are preserved on low poly game models and generally fakes physical detail)
