DEPRECATED
I'm no longer maintaining this mod and likely won't even respond to comments here. This game option (and many more) is maintained in my flagship mod: DB's Civ VI Gold. Unsubscribe to this and subscribe to that.



When Great People die, they die. (Same applies to archeologists, naturalists, and rock bands.)

Description
This is a one-line mod:

UPDATE Units SET CanRetreatWhenCaptured = 0 WHERE CanRetreatWhenCaptured != 0 ;

What that does is remove the CanRetreatWhenCaptured ability from all the units that had it. Those units were the great people, archeologists, and naturalists. This means that if you "attack" these units now, they will die instead of warping back to their owner's city. Applies to all units, player and AI.

This mod does not work (base game). It does not work in DB's Civ VI Gold.

I like this idea, although I'd prefer to be able to capture them and keep them for myself instead of killing them. The mod suggested to use over this one does a lot more than I am looking for.

I don't see any reason why it wouldn't, it literally is one very simple line. But, we'll just have to test it and find out!

This mod is great, no need to abandon it. I hope it still works, because unlike your other mod which is also good - this one can be used along with other mods too ;)

Just a quick note to say that this mod is now deprecated but the idea lives on as a Game Option in DB's Civ VI Gold .
