This mod does not work (base game). It does not work in DB's Civ VI Gold.

I like this idea, although I'd prefer to be able to capture them and keep them for myself instead of killing them. The mod suggested to use over this one does a lot more than I am looking for.

What an obsession with bringing all the mods into one, abandoning this one and others...

I don't see any reason why it wouldn't, it literally is one very simple line. But, we'll just have to test it and find out!

Will this still work if I start a game with it?

Good joke!

This mod is great, no need to abandon it. I hope it still works, because unlike your other mod which is also good - this one can be used along with other mods too ;)

Just a quick note to say that this mod is now deprecated but the idea lives on as a Game Option in DB's Civ VI Gold .

Finally an end to great people being used as immortal scouts.

Finally, the merits of civilian warfare can be depicted in Civ 6!

Does this work for rock bands as well?
DB  [author] 26 Jul, 2019 @ 1:32pm
yes
Nizou 26 Jul, 2019 @ 1:30pm
Is it compatible with June update ?
DB  [author] 10 Jul, 2019 @ 3:52pm
Hi Titan!

I would like that too. Currently, I don't think the modding tools allow for that option. I tried copying the method that leads to capture for builders and settlers, but the great men just died.

Kind regards,
DB

yknow how a bunch of "captured" nazi scientists contributed greatly to americas rocket developments? i feel like when you capture great people, it should work like capturing a settler. except admirals and generals.

Maybe one day, this will not only be incorporated into the vendor'ed game; but, done so strategically and tactically sound like good human players would at corresponding tiered levels, along with a revamping of all the "AI" [instead of just cheating] Yes, I dream big.
Raj 6 Jun, 2019 @ 1:13am
Agreed. Captured "Great" people should be killed rather than back to home city. Nice Mod

You're welcome!

all men must die

@Emperor Eden No the AI isn't tweaked
amabelfkbooth 21 Apr, 2019 @ 2:31am
Great idea thanks!
A flavour where you could capture them rather than kill would also be fab - kinda like Spies so you could have the option to trade them back or maybe 'convert' them to your civ by waiting a certain number of turns or spending gold or faith to turn them to your side :)

Excellent, I've always hated that feature for one major reason. Great Generals! It's all well and good to not be able to kill GP as important civilian units, buy generals are hardly civilian units! So frustrating that the AI would make a mistake by exposing their general and that was not strategic gain for you. Which makes me think, do the AI now put effort into protecting GP as I assume they didn't before?
Moyocoya 18 Apr, 2019 @ 3:54am
Second question : does one need to be at war with a player to kill his units ?
Zwei833 the Buggy Modder 18 Apr, 2019 @ 1:14am
But they would die even without the mod, wouldn’t they?
Glemt 17 Apr, 2019 @ 11:12pm
Excellent! I've been desiring this since Vanilla launch, and to be frank, it should be included in the base game. The AI (and players) use immortal great men too frequently to scout the world.
Moyocoya 17 Apr, 2019 @ 9:19pm
I suppose this applies to IA and player's great people as well ?
Grathocke 17 Apr, 2019 @ 6:58pm
We should hold a memorial service for them. :steamsad:
BrickRedDonut 17 Apr, 2019 @ 6:34pm
OK, thank you for making it more clear.
DB  [author] 17 Apr, 2019 @ 3:31pm
If the enemy runs over them, they don't warp back to your city.
BrickRedDonut 17 Apr, 2019 @ 3:16pm
So they die the year they died? I don't get it.
