This is a patch for Mechanica's Forgotten Buildings, realized using resources from Stilldoll's More Building. All credits goes to them, I only fixed and merged stuff allowing the best of both worlds.

This mod adds a new research, requiring FB's Ultimate Defensive Walls. Once the research is complete, a new array of wall parts will become available. I labeled them all under the "Accessible" name, so you can tell which is which even if the textures and models look the same. The diamond tip of this mod is the t5 tower and everything else was built around it to make it possible. The tower takes the nodes and collision from MB's t5 tower, allowing for climbing to multiple floors, even from ground level, and also comes in with nodes to build five turrets and two lights, while having the mesh and texture from FB's tower.

The new tower is larger than the FB one, large enough to allow the collision to work properly, after testing i realized the scale at which the collision was shrinked made for a corridor too low for characters to enter and they would get stuck. For this reason, all the new wwall parts are now larger, and they cannot be upgraded from the regular t5 walls to avoid clipping issues.

The new walls also require additional research, I know it's a pain having to research again but the new tower is too overpowered compared to the FB one to let build from the get-go. Lastly i grouped all regular towers from the mod into a single building category, that part was bugging me.

That's pretty much it, engoy and let me know if there are any issues, note that if built too steep the tower stops working correctly and seems to not allow climbing anymore, so keep that in mind and build your towers straight.

- Just a reupload, I didn't change anything manually but the code must have adjusted since it's working perfectly on my end, the turrets too, but still you NEED to build your towers straight, hold the - key until it stops correcting, no matter how messy the terrain, otherwise the stairs inside can become too steep and be percieved as a wall rather than path, also regenerate your navmesh each time, it's ctrl+shift+F11 for the ones who don't know. Let me know if this fixed anything.

And ah, another troublesome thing, sometimes they shoot each other on the towers, I don't know if it's because i have the double barrel so when they shoot like 90 degrees left and right, 2 bolts spawn next to each other so the one closest to the wall, shoots the person next to them. I'm going to change to the single shot turret and see if it fixes it, they shoot longer and are more accurate aswell i think.

I have more issues, one is that when i load a save some of the gunners on the towers spawn at the ground, or when the area is loaded in. This is not too bad, just klick them to move and they run back up again, since i often have my gate open for traders. The other more troublesome issue is when i have raids at my base (i ramped squad size up to max now since i have come quite a bit), so when raids come they are like 50+ enemies and they sort of glitch through the gate (the others rushing from behind push the others through the gate) But that doesn't really matter because they destroy the gate in like 5 seconds. I'm going to look for a way to increase the gate hp by like x10 atleast, maybe there is a file somewhere that i can edit?

Okey, well thanks for answering, I managed to get it to work by doing everything in editor, then save and reload and test (because remake navmesh doesn't work) it was a bit fiddly like you said. I have forgotten buildings but the wall V gate in that pack can't be raised above ground. I guess I could drag it up in edit mode but it feels like if that isn't fixed then no other thing is either ^^

if you want everything neat and working nicely you're probably better off with lower tier towers or using the forgotten buildings version which might have been uploaded at this point, only difference might be the textures, sorry but i'm unable to make any changes at this point, the very little knowledge i used for this is gone by now

this mod is basically only graphical, the whole collision is taken from forgotten buildings, i only applied the texture from the game files, the navmesh is the thing that's finnicky with this since it was effectively fan made and the author tried to make it work within the boundaries of the building the game provided, this means that it needs a lot of precision and not all terrain will allow it, and of course it will be difficult to make straight whole walls between them, i know where you're coming from. my only suggestion since i have no idea how to edit collision boxes is to build them completely straight, in specific spots, test them to check if they actually can be climbed, reloading the mesh as you go, and plan the walls afterwards to make them pleasing, i've had to compromise a lot, it's kind of necessary with a feature the developers didn't fully implement yet in the first place

Ok i figured out a workaround at last.
1. Place wall and build
2. Snap tower to wall and build.
3. Go in editor and straighten the tower and change the height to match up with the wall.
4. save and reload to have the turret nodes to be in the right place.

P.S 2. Like, make it so when you snap towers to walls the yaw value is the only value able to change. the other two rotations are always zero. I guess this kind of thing is on the game engine side and is hard to manipulate

P.S Like you probably know when you snap towers to walls, the - and + buttons don't work to straighten it

When i create towers I want them to be straight, and i can place them straight if i place them first then the wall, but then i cant align everything up the way i want to that way, i want the whole even wall segments not small ones next to all the towers, and when i place wall first and then the tower it gets tilted, and i can fix that with edit mode but then the nodes for turrets get in the wrong place, got a workaround or is this fixable? Like make it so towers are FIXED straight they can't be tilted at all ever?
