Description
"Today we will be going a bizzare weapon, the Modern Warfare 2 AK47." Okay hold up, the AK47? Really Infinity Ward why not the AKM or 74M? At least give a modern name to this AK instead using the prototype name. "So back to our short info, there's not much to say since this is a custom AK but it is unknown of what it's actually based on. The only resemblance that Alex pointed out is that this MW2 AK is based off on the Bulgarian Arsenal AR variant. To me it kinda looked like a modernized AKM but whatever it's our imagination of what we could think of. The only true info about this weapon is that since it is a AK, it carries 30 rounds, fires 7.62mm and it is a processor to every Kalashnikov rifle (M, 74, etc)

So here is the MW2 AK and despite using the name that is overused, I actually like the model of the AK. The original mod is made by Rex The Impaler and the custom texture is made by me. I managed to edit the textures of the AK fully black instead of having tan parts such as the grip, buttstock and verticle grip. Another feature is not only I made the AK black but I also add night sights just for a nice cosmetic feature. Lastly, I update the the incendiary sound just to make it sound more powerful. Enjoy the new look on the AK.

@Flacktrack, if I remember correctly the name "AK-47" was given as a prototype name for the earliest AK model but yes you're right the official name for the Kalashnikov rifle is always AK/AKM.

To be fair the AK47 technically doesn't exit. Official Soviet record put the 47 down as just AK, and it was basically a piece of garbage (heavy, expensive, not very reliable.). The number misconception came from previous Soviet weapons (PPsH41, PPS43, etc) it wasn't until the AK-74 did they continue the date numbering

The AKM however is what many people refer to as the "AK47".
