HISTORY

The Norfolk Patrol Cruiser is another example of an old war horse that still sees extensive use in the Free Citizen's Republic Navy. The Norfolk was the first indigenous Cruiser design from the Border Worlds. As such it holds a special place in the Republic's Navy. At the outbreak of the Revolutionary War of 2176, the Norfolk had already been in service for over a decade.

Featuring ample hangar facilities that can accommodate a number of dropships or fighters, a robust resourcing and manufacturing suite as well as the ability to produce small crafts makes the Norfolk well suited for prolonged patrols.
This flexibility was put to good use by the Republic's Navy in a series of well timed hit and run attacks against isolated Earth outposts and patrols. The Cruiser's "Go-Anywhere" ability allows it to support deployed ground troops or access planet-side resources otherwise out of reach of a comparable capital ship.

To this day, Norfolk Cruisers still patrol Republican space albeit with a number of modernization refits. FCRN believes that the Norfolk will remain the mainstay of the fleet for another 50 years. This would mean the ship would of been in continuous service for over 80 years.

@Ranger Thanks for the kind words. On the Norfolk, you can remove the vanilla missile tubes on the port and starboard sides and replace them with the weaponcore homing missiles. There should be plenty of room.

Hey Wildcard I love your designs and how real and organic they feel. The Norfolk is one of my new favorite toys now but i tried out the Virginia you just made and the only thing with that is i like the tech overhaul with the mods. Those missles and combat sitop especially. Ive only just tried those so i dont know how i would incorporate them into the Norfolk because i love having the hangar space on it.

Probably will build an Escort Carrier or something like that that'll be Vanilla following the Norfolk's style.

Hey Wildcard, I just discovered you lately.. I've been wondering, will you be constructing a carrier anytime soon? I love your interior and system layout and would like to see you tackle one.

Thanks @eVo! I can't take credit for the programming, that honor goes to all the script writers.

The missiles run on the Diamond Defense Script, so they fire automatically. They did mention that in the future, there will be a way to assign targets and manually fire missiles. For now, it's missile spamming.

Right now, you can stop the missiles from firing if you turn off the missile welders.

holy.. just tried this masterpiece yesterday..
U're awesome.. that level of programming with all those features are dope..
Just two questions.. (kinda new to those missile thing..)
Is there any way to launch the Guided Missiles Tubes by hand or even assign them a target?
Tried almost every command-seat but sadly those runs just automaticly if the targets are to close..
thought about to launch them a bid further..

Annd is there anyway to create a auto-destroy on those missile?
hat a long fight and the world was flooded with these missiles xD
