The MFS Cargo Pod - Large
Menu ID: C-Pod LG.





Created for use with the MCL-220 Atlas Modular Cargo Lifter, the C-Pod LG was designed specially for planetary operations. Much more robust when compared to its standard size cousins, It is fully enclosed with power and conveyor connections for six large cargo containers. Additionally, it is equipped with a parachute system and landing gear which allows it to be air dropped if desired. As with every MFS module, its onboard systems inclue a battery bank, timers to control the fore and aft connection points, and a gyroscope for stability during docking procedures as well as offsetting cargo mass. An additional connector is present on the dorsal hull to allow direct on/offloading.

  • Survival Ready.
  • Parachute system and landing gear allow C-Pod LG to be air-dropped.
  • Pod can be de and re-attached either by finding its corresponding timers via the menu, or via physical control panels placed next to the corresponding connection point.
  • The connecting end painted blue is fore, the connecting end painted red is aft (This makes no functional difference for this module.)

I see the ability to change this form-factor into a fighter bay. Use one of the smaller sized pods to house the pilots. Just need a way for them to move between pods.

That's awesome, I love how people keep modifying these designs. More bits and bobs on the way. Working on a double ended command module.

Link already placed. Thank you. Command, engineering 2, refinery and cargo modules. Quite a fun system but took me a long time to build even with BAR systems (refining all that platinum for thrusters!). May add a second engineering module at the back for looks. Plus who does not want 12 jump drives?

Did replace 2 of the H2 engines in the command module with BAR blocks, removed one cryo and survival kit to place a full med bay, and added connectors top and bottom of the command module (nice spots right at the back) for a fighter and/or cargo shuttle. Should be lots of fun to see how fast she accelerates.

Hope you do not mind, but I made non-drop and refinery versions of this module for use in space. Let me know if you prefer I take it off public on the workshop.

Needs a beacon and maybe an air-drop timer that triggers the chutes, beacon and locks on landing gear but otherwise it's pretty solid!
