Description
Various configurations, fixes, and balance changes intended to make various commonly used mods harmonize with one another.

Changelist:
  • Comes bundled with a simplified version of "Free Camera Rotation" optimized for WotC that uses existing bindings instead of adding new ones. "Camera Free Zoom" (default MMB) now free rotates and "Toggle Zoom Level" (default Z) now resets the camera.
  • Also bundled with a custom version of "More Psionic Units" that doesn't count the Chosen Hunter or Assassin as psionics
  • Patches "Infinite TLP Weaponry" to work properly with "Primary Secondaries" so primary variants of TLP Weapons are also infinite.
  • Allows Arcthrowers to be used as Primary Weapons with RPGO, and allows Psi Amps to be used as secondaries (necessary fix for Sorcerer class)
  • Force level now increases every 14 days as opposed to 10.5 days to offset the difficulty increases caused by "A Better Advent", "Improved Chosen AI", "World War L", and "The Hive".
  • Slight nerf to "The Hive" Chameleon early game spawn rates (Chameleons can only spawn as pod leaders starting at force level 12, don't spawn as followers until force level 15)
  • Eases difficulty spike of retaliation missions with tons of faceless caused by ABA: Better Missions, by force level gating the "more faceless" retaliation mission type to minimum force level 7
  • Increased number of available Covert Ops to choose from, to complement "Multiple Covert Actions". Also Configures "Multiple Covert Actions" to grant a flat 1 concurrent covert op per faction.
  • Meeting a faction now grants 4 Resistance Order cards instead of 2.
  • Quickdraw now applies correctly to fan fire, faceoff, and shadowfall without conflicting with "Ability Interaction Fixes" (code borrowed from Captain Richard's "Quickdraw Sensitivity")
  • Tweaked "RPG Overhaul" to keep vanilla upgrade slot & sniper rifle mechanics (need to unlock upgrade slots/sniper rifles cost 2 AP to shoot) while maintaining Squadsight ability for Sniper Rifles.
  • Mimic Beacons no longer break concealment
  • Relegated "Female Clothing Pack" jackets from arm slots to torso gear to fix clipping/overlapping character generation
  • Recolored "Tactical HUD Shot Bar" to read more intuitively (crit:green/hit:yellow/dodge:orange/miss:red)
  • Configured "Chosen Reward Variety" to guarantee Assassin Katana, Hunter Darklance, and Warlock Psi Amp drops (as well as some text fixes)
  • Set Mission Expiration warning to 3 hours as opposed to default 24
  • Rebalanced all "Cut Content Ammo" types so as to all be equally viable alongside "Bluescreen Round Nerf" (as well as numerous text fixes)
  • Slightly nerfed shieldwall ability in "[WOTC] Powered Armor Rebalance" to grant 6 ablative HP as opposed to 8
  • Configured "Normalize SPARKs" to allow SPARKs to learn XCOM abilities, but not form bonds (intended for use with Metal Over Flesh *or* Mechatronic Warfare)
  • Configured "World War L" so that all cosmetic lost appearances are enabled by default.
  • Rebalanced RPGO traits to be more unique/usable (& fixed localization for them)
  • Slightly nerfed Katanas to not be objectively stronger than vanilla swords while still being unique
  • Reduce RPGO Heavy Weapons mobility cap from 16 to 11 (20 to 16 for powered armor)
  • Undoes removal of pod downthrottling set by "A Better Advent" for difficulties below Legend.
  • Restores vanilla autoloader, laser sight, and scope, but keeps other custom weapon attachments.
  • Configures "Randomize Appearance Button" to include modded clothing/props/colors without having to click the "Totally Random" button

Overrides
  • XComTacticalInput & X2Camera_FollowMouseCursor - Needed to bind Free Rotation and reset camera functions. Removing will disable free rotation functionality.
  • X2Ability_MimicBeacon - Makes mimic beacons not break stealth when thrown. Remove if using an additional mod that somehow changes mimic beacons.

I love your tweak for the sniper rifle. Where to find it in your ini files ?

I would dl the full mod but I dislike the free camera, and even when deleting XComTacticalInput & X2Camera_FollowMouseCursor and associated camera ini, my key bindings are erased by this mod.

Load order shouldn't make a difference due to the way the game consolidates the .ini files, but putting this at the end is still good practice

do i download and put this as the last mod or early is fine?

if it's a mod specific .ini like XComKatanaMod.ini you can just delete it altogether, otherwise you can look through it and just delete or comment out the settings you don't want. They all have comments telling you what the settings do.

I don't have most of these mods, and I just want a small few of the patches. *How* do I remove the ones I dont want, am I deleting the .ini folder such as the one for the katana mod, or am I setting something to "FALSE"?
Mountlover  [author] 7 Jul, 2020 @ 7:36pm
@Violentruler10 if you don't have the katana mod, the changes won't do anything, but the changes are in XComKatanaMod.ini

totally necro-ing this, but could someone help me understand what i'm editing in the .ini files? to remove-deactivate something like the katana mod changes, since I don't have that.

Yeah, the vast majority of these changes are isolated in the .ini files within the mod folder.

The only exceptions are some things that required scripting like the camera rotation, the quickdraw fix, and some tweaks to get Primary Secondaries/RPGO to play nice with other mods. Not having Primary Secondaries or RPGO shouldn't cause issues though.

This has some tasty features. Stuff I end up doing every time I start over a new campaign (the World War L default settings for example). For the longest time I scrolled past this thinking it was just an anime overhaul.

Is everything configurable in the ini files? I only want a small selection of these, and others sound like they could directly conflict with other mods or personal tweaks of my own.

@mountlover I agree.
