TT MVC A2 Radar Detection Aircraft

Description
The TT MVC A1 Radar Detection Aircraft is a military prototype version of the TT MVB B1; with an updated and improved stabilisation tail rotor; two Laser Designated missiles, onboard automatic cueing Laser Designator and with a Tracking & Search Radar system, sensitive enough to detect, track and intimidate targets as small as penguins.

The Radar system works by alternating between scanning a narrow FOV beam to the left and the right of where the target is expected to be. If the target isnt detected, the FOV is enlarged and the pattern repeated. If the target is detected in one of those FOV beams, then the target location is updated to the centre of that beam, and the process repeated with a narrower FOV. this process continually repeats to get an accurate location of the target or reaquire if lost.

special features of the MVC A0:
- Tracking Radar that can automatically detect targets and can be designated via the touchscreen HUD
- Radar Activation Button to the right of the Master Arm key
- Master Arm key to enable missiles
- Laser Target Designator cued by radar automatically for targets from vehicles to penguins, icebergs and coffeemugs
- Laser Designated missiles

It includes a range of standard features from the MVB aircraft:
- Full VTOL capability
- Automatic VTOL Altitude Hold Control system
- 1 Pilot Seat
- 1 Standby Crewseat
- 1 Functional Toilet
- 1 Emergency Parachute for VIP (Very Important Pilot)
- Nav Light System
- 4800 litres of fuel, ~40 mins endurance at default Turbine power (can reduce turbine power for more time)
- minutes of fuel remaining estimation gauge (updates estimate every 15 seconds)
- Constant Auto-yaw at roll control
- Constant Auto-roll stabilisation
- Press "3" for super turbo boost (144m/s) at the expense of a LOT of fuel - be sure to turn this off while at altitude as you will lose altitude while the engines cool back off

Controls
- Up/Down controls the set altitude. The VTOL will try to hold this unless the tilt is set to 100%.
- Left/Right - Yaw
- W/S Forward and Back in VTOL mode, Pitch in aircraft. If the tilt is set between 0 and 100% then the output will be a blend.
- A/D Roll. In VTOL mode up until 100% tilt this will be self stabilising.
- 1/2 Tilt Control. This can also be accessed and checked by looking at the lever to the right of the Seat.
- RPS % - this lever to the left of the seat sets the engine RPS. It should only ever be adjusted if you are having difficulties taking off with the cargo load. If set too high the aircraft will keep ascending in VTOL mode.
- Buttons left of seat STARTER: spools engines; FUEL PUMP: Turns on fuel flow BUT also enables PIDs. Reset this if landed for a prelonged ammount of time or if the aircraft becomes unstable. NOSE LIGHT: controls a light on the nose.
- ABOVE SEAT CIRCUIT BREAKERS - There are three, main power, instrument power and flight power. Flight power is disabled on spawn and must be turned on to be able to start the engines.
- 3 Turbo Boost - gets speed up to 144 m/s, requires a lot of fuel to do so. Be at altitude when this is disengaged as the engines will briefly shut down to cool off.
- 4 Fire Left Missile (must engage master arm first)
- 5 Fire Right Missile (must engage master arm first)

Start up procedure
- Press Jet Starter (you do not need to hold) then press Fuel Pump and PID reset button.
- Enable or Disable the Radar by pressing "Engage Radar"

HUD Features
The HUD overlays two systems, the IR Missile system and the Radar System.
The crosshair with a circle that changes size is the Radar System.
The fixed green circle, red circle and red outline on the HUD is the IR missile system. The red outline shows that the selected missile (Telemetry switch) can currently see a valid target.

Have fun and let me know what you think or if you have any suggestions.

Please do not reupload or modify vehicle without prior permission, however, I have created a kit of radar and laser tracker components to enable you to create similar capabilities in other vehicles! See the link below:

Changelog:
== A0 to A1 model ==
- Added laser designator cued by the Radar automatically; meaning the system can now therefore attack targets that do not have external designation (e.g. Laser Beacons or another vehicle pointing a Laser Beam) making it highlight versatile and able to attack anything from vehicles to coffee mugs and icebergs!
== A1 to A2 model ==
- Change to the LUA logic to make compatible with Stormworks v0.8.21 (changes to elevation output from radar, offset and inverted)

When I use this to target ships, teh missiles are imprecise and often dive into the water before tracking the target. I think the small rocket on the top is causing this

Awesome man, thanks :)

Corsair016 I'd rather you didn't build off this creation, but I would like to help people learn and build their own creations with the radar and laser pointing technology in this. So to make it far simpler I've just made a kit of parts for people to use! - check the description for a link!

you only gave him a day, be patient.

Well?

I would credit it to you of course

Could I modify and use the radar logic from this as a base for my creation? Can't do it from scratch myself as I am not that proficient in Lua

ChinchillaTime - interesting idea, might see if I can add that in the future.
The Cow God - I've never had that issue and no one else has reported it. Seems to be specific on your end. Please file a report using the ingame bug tracker and link the vehicle in your bug report with how you caused it. I've deleted a few of your posts there as they weren't all adding content (e.g. "okay" and "buuuuut").

For some reason I have a rather difficult time using this craft. Would it be possible to add an indicator to tell the pilot what the assigned/requested altitude is?
