Dwarf Bonus vs Large

Description
Updated for Silence and Fury!

This mod adds a small Bonus vs. Large to all Dwarf infantry who wield Great Weapons (two handed armour-piercing weapons). Specially it gives a +6 bonus to Miners, a +8 bonus to Dwarf Warriors, Longbeards, Quarrellers and Rangers, and a +10 bonus to Hammerers. This bonus also applies to the Regiment of Renown variants of those units.

It ALSO adds Charge Defence vs. Large to Hammerers and their RoR. It always annoyed me that Longbeards with Great Weapons had this attribute but their direct upgrade did not.

Silence and Fury: I also added splash attacks to the Hammerers RoR for consistency with the base version.

Bonus vs. Large works by increasing a unit's attack (hit chance) and damage against Large entities. Large entities are usually cavalry and monsters. But to check for sure you can mouse over the stick figure-like icon next to the entity number on the top-left portion of a unit's unit card, right under the HP bar.

It is my hope that this mod will make it easier for Dwarf players to deal with enemy cavalry, and that it will also make two-handed infantry a bit more attractive when you are building your armies. Hopefully it will also make you slightly more careful when using cavalry against enemy Dwarf armies, making things a little more interesting. :)

You're welcome. I'm happy the mod was useful to you.

I probably won't make any other changes to the units in this mod. I prefer to keep the tweaks I make as small and surgical as possible. It's not that I don't think Hammerers aren't overly squishy, because they are, it's just that any bigger rebalancing is outside the scope of what I want to do or am capable of. I'd just end up making a bunch of changes and breaking the balance entirely. Thanks for your comment though.

Thank you very much for the mod. I would like to ask you to consider raising the armor of the Hammerers to match it with that of the Ironbreakers since it is currently on a par with that of the Longbeards and it does not seem correct to me as the Hammerers are better armored Royal Guard units and much more expensive to maintain. Again, thank you very much for your work.

Updated. I also added splash attacks to the Hammerers RoR for consistency with the base version. I imagine there is a multiplayer reason for CA not doing so but whatever.

Yeah, my friend and I also use Kaedrin's and are able to co-op just fine. As long as you both are using the same mods, have them all up to date and are using the same load order than it works great for multiplayer campaigns. :D

We had to spend half an hour trouble shooting last time we played because it said there was a version mismatch. But one of us just had an out of date mod. So we both unsubscribed and resubscribed to the mod and it worked fine. :) So grateful the community is picking up the slack.

Updated the mod for the latest patch. Was hit by a burst of motivation so I figured out the necessary workaround, lol. I do wish the launcher wasn't such a piece of junk, though.

I slightly tweaked the amount of BvL the various units get, mostly tiny buffs. I am interested in the idea of adding Charge Bonus vs Large to Hammerers. It always annoyed me that Longbeards have it but Hammerers, their upgrade, don't. Unfortunately I couldn't figure out what table in the database handles such things. So for now that will remain a plan for the future!

Happy to hear it got updated! It sounds like quite an extensive mod. I respect people who are willing to tackle the task of modifying the entire roster so that the combat plays how they envision. However I am happy with vanilla balance for the most part, and prefer small, surgical changes, so I am not sure if I will use it. I do appreciate you sharing the link with me though. :)
