Dynamic Bulwarks: Build - Defend - Survive WW2 (IFA3)

Description
To play this mission in single or multiplayer host a local or internet game, select the map and start the mission.

This is a WW2 Port (IFA3) for Dynamic Bulwarks: Build - Defend - Survive. It also includes some new features and changes.

The mission is for the map WW2: Pella Region Greece, it comes with "IFA_AIO_Lite"
You can change the map for this really easily to anything you want. A tutorial for that is at the end of this workshop description.

Changes/added features:
- more special waves! (more on that later)
- removed some of the buyable objects from bulwark and added ones included in IFA3
- buyable explosive barrel
- defector wave spawns US troops
- removed all vanilla loot and added IFA3 loot instead
- IFA3 units and vehicles as enemy
- weapons always spawn with ammo and ammo always spawns with gun
- increased maximum amount of ammo spawning for a loot pile
- supply drop gives more ammo
- parameter for invincible items in editme
- invincible stationary weapons
- parameter for explosive items in editme (thanks Sqwince)
- removed civilian wave and drone wave, don't really like them
- some other changes i probably forgot to mention or are not worth listing

New Special Waves
- Flamethrower wave
Also armed with phosphor grenades. This wave is horrible and very scary. Good luck!
- MG Wave
An angry horde of germans, each one armed with MG42's.
- PTRD wave
An angry horde of russians armed with anti tank rifles.
- Grenadier wave
If they spot you while still further away get into cover immedeatly. If you let them get closer they (sadly) stop using the rifle grenades that much

Tipps and hints:
- You can change "randomize hostile weapons" to yes if you want the game to be even more dynamic
- If you don't like the idea of losing when everyone is dead: you can set respawn tickets in the mission parameters
- I recommend setting "Number of Hostiles per wave" parameter to either double or tripple

- The flame thrower wave is really really nasty, try to get to the high ground, makes it a little bit easier
- The suicide wave can destroy many of the buildings, be prepared for that
- use enhanced movement it really improves the gameplay, especially for Dynamic Bulwarks
- JSRS for IFA3 sounds amazing
- some locations the AI has trouble navigating to you, if that is the case or you don't enjoy your current position just restart and hope for a better one. Overall the Pella Region map has some very nice location for Bulwark

How to change map
Hilltop made a nice tutorial on youtube for that
Obviously you don't need to go to his github and download the official version, instead you need to do the following:
  1. subscribe to the workshop page
  2. launch arma and click multiplayer>server browser
  3. click "host server" on top of your screen and then again on the host server button (no need to change any settings)
  4. Find WW2 Pella Region,Greece in the map list and select it
  5. Select the Dynamic Bulwark mission in the mission list and click play
  6. Take a slot and press ok (it now downloaded the mission file and saved it)
  7. You can now close arma again if you want to, everything else will now happen outside of the game
  8. Go to C:\Users\%username%\Documents\Arma 3 - Other Profiles\*your username*\Saved\steamMPMission (path might be slightly different for you)
  9. Here you will find the dynamic bulwark mission (sort by last changed if you have trouble finding it)
  10. Now you can follow Hilltops tutorial, just instead of downloading the folder from Github you use the one you found in step 9

It didn't use to. However i abandoned this, since the unreleased further developed version was supposed to be a thing. However we kind of got bogged down developing it and sort of stopped.

That would have supported any mod by default, you just pick the factions you want to play with and against. The loot from which factions you want to spawn and then you just play with that.

You can find it on the dev branch of the bulwark github. However there are a few bugs still.

Hi there, I've run into a similar problem as Parabellum with changing maps - where the mission file shows up under the map name but in Blue and when selecting it the music changes but the file never loads.

I had followed the same instructions as Parabellum noted below from Hilltop's tutorial but I'm unable to change any map successfully. The main difference between this and the 'origina' bulwark is that I downloaded the file from github and extracted it. For this I'm just copying and pasting the mission file from the saved MPmission file and changing the name from swu greece.. to the new map name.

Has anyone been able to successfully change the map? If so is there something I'm missing?

This particular version of bulwark is not further developed. There is a seprate in dev version, you can follow progress on the dynamic bulwark official github. Once that is released, it will support WW2 as well as pretty much everything else.

I've also noted several instances of being incapable to revive downed teamates, and that they could only be revived in a specific state with a special UI- this state can only be achieved from being downed by explosives.
