Oceanographic Base

Built to become a permanant science base on Laythe. The lift stage is sufficient to achieve LKO. After refuelling in LKO it then has enough deltaV to reach Laythe orbit, and perform deorbit burn. Once all the fuel in the lifter stage has been used, the lander stage has plenty of delta V to make splashdown on Laythe, utilising a very efficient aerodynamic shape (It's about as streamlined as a particularly large sumo wrestler) for aerobraking, and four Vector engines to prevent burning up, and also for that last second breaking manouver should the parachutes not be able to quite slow you down enough.

The lander stage is equipped with four science labs, and eight of each of the stock science equipment modules. Along with that there is plenty of accomodation for any kerbals who just need to get away from the rat race, and spend some time relaxing in the weak sun of Laythe, while staring up in wonder at the greenness of Jool.
