Gavitron's THRACIA Unit Pack & Reskin (Now includes Tylis & Triballi)

Description
ATTENTION

Unfortunately due to work and other factors I won't be able to update my mods anymore, so I'm releasing them to the community in case anyone wants to take them on.

From hereon out, anyone is free to take and use my Rome 2 mods in any way, whether simply updating them for new patches, or stealing all my units and putting them in another mod.

All I ask is to be mentioned as the original creator. Good luck and have fun!

Thank you,
Gavin

Christmas Update: This update might not be 100% finished, but I wanted to get it out now because I might not be able to work on mods for as long as the end of January. The update makes several of the new Thracian units available to Tylis and Triballi, and includes unique skins for each unit in both factions. This mod should now be fully NUO compatible, but let me know if you have any issues.

The Odrysian Kingdom is the current ruling dynasty in Thrace, a region known for its fierce warriors, especially the famous Thracian peltasts, which are said to have provided the template for other skirmishers of the ancient world. Thracian warriors often fought in melee with long handled, forward curving swords called rhomphaia, not entirely unlike the Dacian falx, but they were not known for an abundance of heavy armour. It was said that the Greek states feared a united Thrace above all things.

My mod is based on the interpretation that the Odrysian Kingdom adopted Hellenic culture and military practices, and includes several units of hoplites, pikemen and various armoured and unarmoured melee, missile and cavalry units. I've given them and the existing Thracian units a cohesive visual readjustment which may not be completely historically accurate, but strikes what I consider to be a good balance between plausibility and awesomeness.

Included in this pack are:
- A brand new heavy warriors unit.
- Nine new naval units.
- Armoured and unarmoured reaver shock cavalry.
- Light, medium and heavy hoplites and pikemen.
- Light and medium swordsmen.
- Heavy bowmen, and a versatile skirmisher unit.
Plus:
- Changes to the variantmeshes of Thracian warriors, nobles, bowmen and more.
- Some new units are also available to Tylis.

Most of my units are closely based on Greek or other vanilla units in order to maintain balance, but the range of units available with my mod might give the Odrysian Kingdom and bit of an advantage. At some point I will probably look at balancing my mod for overhauls like Radious' and others.

REQUIRED: If you want to actually play as the Odrysian Kingdom, you need the Playable Factions and Custom Battle mod[twcenter.net] by izanagi11.

If you are having compatibility issues, try the New Units Only version.

Check out the TWCenter Thread[www.twcenter.net] for more details, photos, and the NUO version.
