Description
This mod focuses on increasing replayability of the 3K campaign through choices and faction strength randomization.

What it does:
  • Han empire will split after turn 22. This allows time for Dong Zhou and Liu Bei to make some use of annexing, mix up the Han governors from campaign to campaign, and allow time for major factions to "seed" the world before potentially strong factions come into play.
  • Randomized faction potential. While stalwarts like Liu Bei and Cao Cao will more often receive the biggest buffs, now every faction has a chance to be a top dog.
  • AI should generally spend more of their money.
  • High potential factions now receive redeployment cost reduction and construction time reduction (low potential receive penalties to these).
  • Emperor now receives additional benefits to encourage actually holding it: +10 morale, +1 admin/army, +4 public order factionwide.
  • Personality X vs. Y dilemmas now have a small negative impact with the character you didn't support (so it's no longer strictly a positive event).

Context
Dynamic Campaign+ is a spinoff of the excellent Divison of Empire mod. It strips it down to the core feature of splitting the Han into independent factions with their own personality and removes much of the AI bonuses and anti-player difficulty features, leaving the player to customize those to their liking through mods.


Try my other mods to maximize immersion, game logic, and campaign dynamism:
Better Diplomacy - Improves AI diplomatic logic. Places a greater emphasis on long-term relationships and deals, discourages warmongering, creates more coalitions, and properly weights threats and allies based on proximity.
Guanxi Overhaul - Enhanced Relationships, Events, and Stories - Adds around 1,000 trait-driven events (including banquets) that greatly impact how generals form friendships/rivalries and brings the Guanxi relationship system to life. You'll care a lot more about all of your generals with this mod, even the generics.

In my opinion this modification would be better if a faction potential would be randomised only for factions which have unique not generic leaders for example factions such like Tong Yuri, Wang Kuan, Zhang Yang, Han Fu, etc. I find it very frustrating seeing Tong Yuri swallowing Yuan Shu like he is nothing it just makes game so annoying. :/

seem to be having trouble with this mod with WU king mod? there is something in the files that arent working together well when loading i get CTD

This is a really unique mod and great for replay ability. Its also really nice for factions starting in the south to have potentially belligerent neighbors instead of playing farmville for 60 turns.

Randomized faction potential now?

Don't have any fixes for you since I'm not actively maintaining this. It's possible the Han empire split has some incompatibilities but doubt it would affect a new save.

@Seth AI potential is in vanilla, heavily weighted towards the stalwarts. It's used to make Cao Cao, Liu Bei, etc. very strong every game (like a minor faction at its best roll is worst than Cao Cao at his worst roll). The weighting is much more random in this.
