Description
1. Introduction
➤ AIMED FOR A START IN 1936 WITH HISTORICAL NATIONAL FOCUSES ON
⚠This mod will not work if historical focuses are set OFF. With a start in 1939, it's a non sense to use it and it would cause several unknown and unintended distorsions or anachronies.

2. Content overview
For all starting and released countries. Work in progress.

VANILLA
Historical Portraits [submod]
Historical leaders

Fake leaders

Randomly generated leaders
Replaced by more relevant leaders, at the start or throught events

Replaced by historical leaders, at the start or throught events

Replaced by historical leaders, at the start or throught events WIP

Currently, the mod brings 54 new starting leaders with their photos and 1 new leader throught an event. Moreover, 15 vanilla leaders starting in 1939 also come throught events.
Leaders of the 1939 start that are coming through events have now more resembling portraits, in the limit of generic portraits pool.
This mod brings identical vanilla portraits for characters, with or without DLC. A lot of portraits are from different DLC and non-owners will benifits from it.

3. Content detail
NEW STARTING LEADERS
Full list and sources here

  • ★ Historical leaders replacing those who are fake and randomly generated.
    Fake ➜ historical
    Randomly generated ➜ historical

★ Historical leaders replacing less relevant vanilla leaders (several vanilla leaders weren’t in charge in 1936 or 1939 starts).
    Historical ➜ more historically relevant

NEW LEADERS THROUGH EVENTS
Full list and sources here

Two-choices events offer the possibility to replace the current leader accordingly to history, occuring at the correct dates if their contextualized conditions* are checked.
You always have the possibility to refuse the replacement!
⚠ But be aware that all replacements of a nation are entangled (chain of conditions). If you not choose the first replacement, you’ll still see the next event. Perhaps the replacement can have intended effects, perhaps it will bring non historical and strange changes!
The historical AI will always opt for it.
Several replacements can happen in a same country during the 1936-1945 period.
The mod is intended to make the AI evolving with its historical characters and bringing flavour, especially when we play generic countries.

*These conditions take into account the course of the history, and are therfore restrictives but not too much! I want a balance between strictly following the historicity and being gratified by the event, diverging slightly from it and still being able to have it. and complete divergence from the history that will be synonymous of no revent (in this case you'll miss the first replacement but maybe still see the next event!).
I obviously want to encourage you to follow history on the main lines. Sometimes you'll see an event, sometimes not, depends on you!

  • ★ New historical leaders with new chosen vanilla portraits will replace previous ones.

NEW PARTY NAMES
Full list and sources here

  • ★ New names for political parties dynamically changing accordingly with their new leaders.

3. [current] Rules
☛ Party popularities remain the same.

☛ Ruling parties remain the same. Consequently, a country can get its independance with a ruling random leader while another of its minor party has a unique leader.
⚠ Sometimes, for AI behaviors that Paradox defined, I have to assign another ideology to a historical party. For example, the historical democratic party of Risto Ryti, Kansallinen Edistyspuolue, have to be non aligned to respect the vanilla AI behavior of the country.
N.B.: Maybe, one day, I’ll make the decision to risk AI behavior changes!
⚠ If you notice any suspicious ideology that I assigned to a leader, please give a comment. We can discuss about a leader party affiliation, his personal sub-ideology, and of course if adding him is really pertinent compared to another candidate.
The mod concerns real persons and give to them a particular political reflect. We cannot make defamatory choices on their ideologies.

☛ Different parties in the same country can have the same name.
⚠ Sometimes, for AI behaviors that Paradox defined, I have to assign two ideologies for a same historical party. But it still reflect party internal shades.

☛ If Paradox already have assigned a historical name for a party for which we want to implement a new leader, we will have to integrate a leader from that particular party. In rare case, we can set up another party name if the one of Paradox is really questionable.

☛ If Paradox updates the game and implement a historical leader for the same party for which I have replaced/added a leader, I will consider in priority the choice of Paradox, and maybe turn back to it.

☛ New leaders won’t have traits. Because I don’t think I am able to assign a trait with discernment and justice to a character. We talk about real persons.
And because I also don’t want to alterate the gameplay balance too much.
N.B.: however you can suggest and discuss abou traits, and if it’s really pertinent, I could implement it.

☛ Event texts give pieces of knowledge. I pay special attention to them. Mentions to geopotical history are in the limit of the event triggers. There can’t be more precise- otherwise the player could have followed a slighlty different path from the real history, and he could read some real historical facts in event texts that not happened in his game- so, I have to keep these texts historically accurate and coherent to the contextualized triggers but still rather vague in the story telling.

4. Current version, compatibility and supported languages

6. « vanilla portraits version » and « HP version ».
The difference between these versions are portraits style. This one uses vanilla generic portraits, the other version uses photos like in Historical Portraits, the main mod.

@T_Rex_Patriarch But I am in pouparlers with @Mouton, another modder, to use the portraits of his magnificent mod.

@T_Rex_Patriarch I checked the leaders that are in common by our mods. There are none. But if I implement a leader that this mod bring a portrait for, I will surely ask to use it.
