Description
Spiff's Practical Engineered Solutions, a division of the Weyland-Yutani Corporation, presents Claw Electric Miner with four optimally-spaced drills (based on the not-so-famous, but highly successful Sprite offworld miner), and one medium and one large cargo container for ore storage. With realistic (i.e., 1-1-1) settings, the ore capacity of the cargo containers, cockpit, connector, four drills, and the player (at 10X capacity) is approximately 104 tons, with an additional 3 tons for ice in the O2/H2 generator. Each drill is equipped with a conveyor sorter and ejector to collect only ore (and ice) and dump stone.

Comprised of only 212 blocks, Claw is highly optimized to be a low-cost, high-capacity mining solution for a survival startup. It's short length results in effortless maneuvering in cramped underground mines.

Claw has five (5) batteries for an abundance of power, and also includes eight (8) small reactors for backup, but the reactors are not required for normal operation. As a tunneler, Claw clears a 10-meter square opening. The front-facing connector makes docking and ore-offloading a breeze!

NO MODS, NO DLC, NO ROTORS/PISTONS; SURVIVAL READY AND PROJECTOR BUILDABLE!

SHIP STATISTICS USING REALISTIC SETTINGS
- 212 blocks
- 4,254 PCUs
- 59 tons empty mass
- 166 tons gross mass

{FINAL NOTE: Relative to overall ore capacity, Claw is a minor miner in comparison to Deep Reach Miner which is a major miner. If you really want to quickly mine a lot of ore, check out Deep Reach Miner at https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1872606578}

Thanks. One of my design requirements was to be able to load it to the max and still have a decent climb angle for getting back out of a mined tunnel.

Great ship overall, great maneuverability, enough cargo for decent runs.

That'll happen every time.

There is no landing gear either. I think it might be because i didnt use any offset on the projector, so the battery would be where the projector is

There should be four batteries on the sides (two on each side), and one on the bottom at the front (right above the landing gear).

hmm i see, yeah that could work. I ended up building the ship above another ship (connecting the projector to the initial ship grid) taking the orientation into account. One thing however, i only have 4 batteries in the blueprint.

Um-m-m-m-m...OK. Place a large-grid rotor somewhere, grind off the rotor head, then go into control settings and tell it to put a small rotor head on the rotor. Now build a small-grid projector on the small rotor head and project the blueprint from there. Use the projector's settings to get the ship oriented correctly before starting the build process.

requires a small projector to use. Note that if your projector faces straight forward ( "X" in front and " | " on top) the ship is projected facing downwards, making it annoying to build
